Now? Ditto. Then? I used to visit the period rooms at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and daydream about living in those rooms. Not a house with one or another of the rooms...just taking up residence right there and walking the museum every single day. So, of course, I LOVED this book. I think I read it four times

Right? Why is this such a problem for most people to figure out? Do try eShakti. Been happy with all their stuff so far.

LOVE eShakti. Their prices are great, quick turnaround, and FULL CUSTOMIZATION. Also, their customer service is killer. I’ve never been disappointed in an eShakti purchase. Sometimes their selection is a little bland unless you’re going for dresses, though, but I think that’s the worst I could say about it.

Women weren’t even allowed to own their own credit cards as late as the 1980s. So yeah, we’re definitely still in the realm of being perceived as “attachments” of our significant others rather than as independent human beings.

I was checking out at the grocery store yesterday when the kid bagging the groceries (probably around 17 years old or so) picked up my honeydew and asked, "What's this?"

I bet she was lactose intolerant. But good gogaly mogaly, how do you mix that crap up? Holy cow.

Apparently God's a serious asshole, then, because not only did he punish her, but he also punished the poor kid who did nothing wrong other than having the crap luck of being born to a miserable Mom. The logic there is staggering (and the Internet needs a sarcasm font).

I call troll.

In short, I think the issue is really that women (all people, really) began to believe that our society was "post-feminist" and stopped working as hard as we were before, which gave the misogynists an "in" to gain a foothold. It's disgusting, and living where I do, sometimes I wonder if it's predominant...but then

Oh hell yes. I wanted to nail measuring tape to the ceiling.

Agreed. HOL is DEFINITELY worthy of this list. Way creepier than some of the others mentioned, and well-written (unlike the Lovecraft).

As a resident of Hutchinson, Kansas, I'm all for it. I'd be happy to drive down Main Street and drive by a great big brass sculpture of the Man of Steel. And can't imagine why BC (in CANADA, not Kansas), would be a better candidate. ;)
