What a glorious waste of bandwidth. I never understood why anyone ever wanted this "feature". What is the point of searching before you even tell it what you want to search for?

@xd.Balls: You mean like giving out another person's phone number pretending it is his so the other person would be pranked relentlessly?

So what happens if you are going slow and someone passes you really fast... what does it say then?

@bg-dez: Zune has had a social music service for quite a while. There is nothing new here.

@Preacher iTofu a.k.a. Scammer Money: I don't know about you but at my current hourly rate, $99 is about 2 hours worth of work. I can guarantee I can shave far more than 2 hours off my development time by developing in .NET. Therefore it would be much more profitable for me to pay the $99 per year and $99 per app

@Preacher iTofu a.k.a. Scammer Money: I don't actually think this is true. You can get a copy of Visual Studio Express for free. All the phone development tools are free downloads. I would argue that developing for .NET is far easier and takes less time than developing C++ and Java code. Therefore developing for

I am not actually sure how you got to that conclusion based on the quote. The quote just said they have nothing to announce; it didn't say that they were not working on anything. I highly doubt that they are sitting around waiting for WP7. I am sure they have something in the works but it is probably just not in a

McAfee... seriously?? Biggest waste of money ever! Anything McAfee makes is basically a virus. Ever try to uninstall McAfee software?

@chajjar: If it is running OS X then it doesn't support the TRIM command. The drive would have a much reduced lifespan.

I guess I am going to have to start sleeping in a Faraday cage.

@Kaiser-Machead v.2.1.1: I wouldn't think they would be doing it totally for free because they could still charge for the apps on the Marketplace. If the app is successful then they could be earning themselves quite the bonus for the year.

No way I would let a doctor use one of those on my daughter. I don't have a problem with needles and those would give me nightmares.

Anyone want to place a bet on whether or not this is a ploy by Apple to try to take some of the wind out of the sail of Microsoft when WP7 comes out. "Later this year" sounds a little too much like what Microsoft is saying for WP7. My bet is that the white iPhone will have a release date slightly before WP7 so

@ads2k2.1: When I worked at Plasmon we were working with violet lasers for optical media back when Sony was developing Blu-ray (probably about 8 years ago). They were targeting different customers. Plasmon was targeting business customers for long term archival of data (guaranteed 100 years I believe it was). Back

@Deaf Mute: Actually they justified it by saying they were trying to make nuclear weapons. The WMDs were actually checmical and biological weapons.

@Kirkaiya: You could think of death rays like nuclear weapons. How many countries that have nuclear weapons have been invaded? None that I can think of (but my memory of history class could be fuzzy).

Wow. I am not a fan of bugs in general but all of these were beautiful. I love great photography. I only wish I was better at it.

I don't think most people are against audiophiles. I think they are just making fun of the people that drop $25,000 on an a pair of speakers that sound just as good as a $1000 pair of speakers. The law of diminishing returns is huge in the audio world. We also are very visual creatures. Our hearing is very bad

@badasscat: I was actually trying to to support your point (though I seemed to have failed). My point was supposed to be that the doom and gloom in the article is really just business as usual. It does not spell disaster for WP7 because the people doing the complaining are just pissed off employees.

@badasscat: I have seen this as well. You will never see a company where all your employees feel the company is being run well. Those that don't like what is going on scream the loudest. So what we have here is a disgruntled employee that quit and some employees that got bought out and didn't want to be.
