The symmetry of that engine bay is a work of art.

I think I missed that bit. Questionable act notwithstanding, that is a genuinely funny word combo.

Cool, thanks.

I must say the premise of this movie comes across as so hackneyed and dated (I won’t say anti-progressive, but maybe a little). Really? A movie about parents trying to keep their kids from having sex in high school (senior year, even)? Perhaps my disdain is rooted in my own frustrating high school experience and

Thank you. I had the same feeling. I was not familiar with Sinclair or his empire, but I feel like I’ve heard similar pledges of objectivity between NPR segments (my most beloved news resource).

Very good story, Ms. Faulk.

Intrigued, and as a fan of the drink, I checked wikipedia and found no such ickiness. I’m not doubting you (it sounds plausible), but can you point me to the notorious origins you speak of?

Two reasons I really enjoyed this movie in college:

Nice explainer article, but that illustration of a piston suffering a bout of interference is just perfect. Among your best work.

Maybe laws are different in the countries this will be a big seller in (cough, cough, Middle East, cough).

Hey now, I resemble that remark!

Oh, believe me next time I’m near Nashville I’ll definitely be visiting! Been on my radar for a few years now.

Ah, that would explain the discrepancy in our experiences a bit. As I was only 10 by 1990, I likely had few opportunities or reason to be messing with the driver-side door on anyone’s car until about 1995 when I first really got behind the wheel of one. My hand-me-down ‘87 LeSabre definitely did not function this way,

That was my thought, too. And then I was really surprised to see the gray mouse-fur seats, which brought in the reality that it is, indeed, a product of the ‘90s.

So unfortunate that it’s been such a sales failure. This should make for a historic marketing case study in the business world. It seemed like such a good idea on paper. I’ve not been to India, but I’ve seen countless pictures and videos of whole families hanging off a Honda Cub like some circus act. Is this flop

Yeah, I grew up in the 80s and I think I vaguely remember a friend’s family car requiring this, but only because it seemed unusual and I probably assumed something was broken.

Did you see where the rear wheels are? Pretty sure this car has an entirely bespoke rear framework.. That is not an MR2 wheelbase.

But why are they less fun?

I’m really curious what they’ve done to “louden” an electric drive. They are inherently pretty darn quiet! Maybe they put in some straight-cut gearing or found the noisiest bearings on the market.

It’s a little more important to keep electric motors out of the rain...
