1. That was a well-written piece and I found it inspiring and encouraging. This here “xenial” has strong faith in the next generation to fix what we haven’t been able to. Thanks, Jorge. I’ll be keeping an eye out of other stories from you.

Shit, That’s UHF, not VHF. And I was wrong, that woman was Victoria Jackson, not Yeardley Smith.

How do you do it, Whiskered Sot?

Wow, I have to revisit that. I obviously don’t remember anything of that film beyond the coffee grinder scaring the cattle.

Watched the ep last night. NBC provided ZERO indication this was episode 2 of the series! They just called it a sneak peak or sneaky preview or something.

Yes, that splat is a good indicator he didn’t plunge 50 feet to his death or something.

I’ve been debating this with a friend over the last couple days. One realization I came to was that there are really two distinct issues that are being incorrectly discussed as one:

According to the first Deadspin article, she has (or at least had) a full time job. If you set your priorities right you can save up to travel and stuff.

I’m glad it was captured on video. Most assuredly this repair was not done in accordance with established safety protocol. Hopefully some supervisor got an earful and they improve their practices.

I did not think ze Germans were capable of such whimsy. Color me impressed. I like it.

Exact thought.

Exact thought.

I’ve never seen this photo from the other side of the car. Newspaper clipping? Did this insane person and his passed out lady friend make it into some newspaper article for this?!

From what I recall, drugs were involved with the driver’s thought process for this oldie-but-goodie, according to internet lore (though I always have wondered what the real story was).

Indeed. That’s where the story first got fishy to me.

Very interesting. Thanks. When I was a kid my dad took me to plenty of car shows and the old dudes were always using the term “mag wheels.” Eventually I learned they were talking about magnesium wheels, and my Dad did mention a fire risk.

Thanks for the trip down Memory Lane. I received the original Foreman grill as a gift during my second year of college in 1999. It really did seem like a marvel at the time. My house mates and I thought it was terrific, but then, we mostly bought JTM burgers, which had a high percentage of recycled corrugate that
