Oh man, I’m glad to know FFVII probably had a Dairy Farming translator with the spreadsheet of imperfectly copied cells. Thanks again for all the work you’ve been diving into on this series. It’s been rad to help out in whatever little ways we can!

Clearly inspired by this excellent piece of artwork:

First, this isn’t Abrams since he was only involved with Episode 7. Second, no one really knows how big The First Order is since they’re primarily based in the Unkown Regions and have been amassing their forces in obscurity for the last 30 years with varied support from within the main Galaxy.

They mentioned that it costs $1.50 to have the DLC available on the stores, so really any of the profit that’s being made is going to his family.

I feel that Star Wars does brilliantly with this stuff because of the control they have over their marketing department not creating trailers that are just “the cliffs notes version of the film.” I remember being so glad for stuff like that when Finn wasn’t the Force user, Kylo Ren’s real name being Ben Solo, etc. etc.

These are so excellent, thanks for doing them. Glad some of the folks over from TheLifestream could help out with this, too!

So... You’ve made a devloution into a mix of a pure strawman & ad hominem attacks in your self-declared final reply. Not to mention that in all the 5 paragraphs not a SINGLE attempt to directly address the specifics of this system in this game that I have been overly adamant about discussing. It’s only going in

Well, like you said, there’re Overwatch Loot Boxes – there’s also Destiny with Silver, Duelyst Mystery Crates, Halo5 REQ Packs, etc. Additionally, Mortal Kombat X had the option of purchasing an “unlock DLC” for their Krypt (which is similar but also slightly different). My point is that there’s a model that other

...That’s not evidence that this game’s core mechanics were manipulated. A large number of modern games with RNG loot elements correlating to an in-game currency give you the option to also purchase said RNG loot with real money. That’s it. The game has the Market system in place already, and they’re just adding on

First off: I’ve given no evidence that the mechanics haven’t changed from Shadow of Mordor, because you’re the one claiming that things are being intentionally changed from how they existed before, so you’re responsible for the burden of proof for that claim. I don’t have to prove a negative because you’re making an

Please, do tell how they would possibly “bump up the amount of grind” like you’re claiming. Your entire argument rests on the fact that this must be true, otherwise it’s not malicious, it’s just innocuous.

Well in SoM & SoW, unlocking Runes, Captains, etc. is all just a natural part of playing the game. Finding the random things throughout the game is just the way it goes, but when it comes to attempting to specialize down different paths, your only alternative would be a sort of crafting system – which MIGHT make sense

Hi! I’m one of those people who 100% doesn’t care at all that there’re some variety of microtransactions in the game. To me, it’s just like being able to buy Koins in Mortal Kombat to unlock things in the Krypt vs. spending hours grinding to unlock it all.

You should definitely watch Better Off Ted.

...You call it a stupid, careless mistake – but that implies that he doesn’t know what he’s getting himself into by going out on that bridge – which he absolutely does.

Counter-counterpoint: Only badly implemented CGI looks like shit.

FWIW: The only Guardians of the Whills we’ve met thus far have been male, although it’s not specified that that’s a sex-specific role of any kind, it’s not unbelievable to think that some of the branches of the church-like orders devoted to the Force would operate that way.

Why do any ancient religious orders have sex-specific roles?
