Don’t be obtuse.

Pretentious or not, this seems to be pretty clear cut example of Fair Use.

Yeah, some of them should be optioned for a screenplay. I would watch a movie about him. And one about this woman.

Sounds reasonable. But I wonder how they determine whether a card is inappropriate? The linked includes this one and I’d be very upset if they determined I couldn’t use it:

Something to note is that David Murray is also known as The 8-Bit Guy, who has several youtube channels. On his 8-Bit guy channel he does retro hardware reviews and restorations.

100% agreed. It’s more amazing than anything I would have ever realistically hoped for, and now that they’ve said they’re doing it, I’d be crushed if they do back down.

I agree. The author’s suggestion of hiring people to vet whether games are acceptable or not is a fool’s errand. Because tastes are subjective, there would never be consistent agreement on what games are acceptable. There would have been never ending shit storms of ‘what about-ism’. I.E. - “You banned our un-PC game

For me, being against Valve’s decision is equivalent to supporting arguments that GTA or rap music shouldn’t be sold in stores. People’s arguments about racist games completely parallels arguments against GTA and gangsta rap objectifying women and promoting violence.

I’ll offer my opinion. A lot of the complaints seem to be about Valve ditching responsibility but those same complaints ignore that it’s a responsibility that was dumped on Valve in the first place. In general people are averse to taking responsibility for their own actions, or the actions of their children. They’re

I agree. People are always ready to get offended and start going on a witch hunt. They need to learn just not buy the game and move on. I don’t wanna see developers walking on egg shells because they’re afraid to offend some soccer mom.

You made a great statement while acknowledging the other side of the argument. This is rarely seem on internet and I salute you for it. I stand with you on this. Value is making a great social responsibility here by acknowledging that people don’t have to be told what to do or what to consumed.

I personally do not understand what there is to NOT understand.

Because it leaves the decision to the consumer, rather than having someone at Valve exert moral judgement (which is bound to be controversial). How is Valve supposed to know better than you?

People like the author of this article want Valve to filter the games because he thinks their values align with his - and that

This is a good thing. Why would any one want Valve to be the arbiter of what is decent. Just don’t interact with the stuff you don’t want to. I’m sure their personal filter stuff will be just fine.

AIDs Simulator links to nothing but the storefront.

“There will be people throughout the Steam community who hate your games, and hope you fail to find an audience, and there will be people here at Valve who feel exactly the same way. However, offending someone shouldn’t take away your game’s voice. We believe you should be able to express yourself like everyone else,

Hewie is best video game doggo ever.

Next week: Trump takes credit for initializing the video game rating task force to ensure the transparency of video game ratings and the content in which the ratings intersparce with.... Known as the t.e.s.r.b.... It actually has a good chance of happening.

I mean for the meeting. Just nod your head to his suggestions because he’ll forget in a week. Dude doesn’t even know we have a movie ratings system....
