I’m not saying it’s not creepy and objectifying (“lame” is, itself, a highly subjective and arguably offensive term, so I won’t comment on that). I’m just saying that it has a right to exist, and should be valued on its own merits — ALL of them — not dismissed simply for being what it is.

“It’s not that Free! Is bad, free is fine, Keijou would be fine if the anime industry wasn’t filled with anime that objectifies women and puts whatever skills they have to be a token.”

“What I don’t understand is why, despite cultural differences, a lot of American anime fans see Keijo!!!!!!!! and laugh it off, unmoved that, in this show, women are valued at the sum total of their body parts.”

It would, but the question is, should it? There actually are games which use swastika imagery (or something very close to it) for its original purpose, which was as a Buddhist symbol — and the Buddhist version of it is still widely used throughout Japan today (on maps and such, to indicate the locations of temples),

Is it just not cool to like FF7 anymore? Because, I mean... dude, FF7's soundtrack is one of the greatest game soundtracks in history, as far as I’m concerned. And the game is one of the best RPGs in general, as well.

I agree with the inclusion of PSP Go on the worst list, but I feel the PSP-2000 (PSP Slim) deserves a spot on the best list — not only did it make the system more ergonomically sound and lightweight, but it also introduced TV-out capability, which is (IMHO) the single greatest feature any handheld system could ever

It never gets mentioned, but I sincerely believe that Opoona, on the Wii, deserves a spot on anyone’s best RPG soundtrack list... not to mention best RPG list in general!

I only wish I could get a copy for less than the PRICE OF A PRIVATE JET. The Metal Gear games are ludicrously expensive on the aftermarket, even cartridge-only.

Definitely not related — Psycho World is a standalone platformer from a company called Hertz, who have no relation to SNK. And the main character is not Athena, either: she’s a psychic researcher trying to rescue her twin sister. The “Psycho” in the title was definitely meant to be “Psychic,” which is why the title

Key word being “like.” Because trust me, you don’t need Super Tritorn in your library. NOBODY needs Super Tritorn in their library! I’ve amassed a pretty enormous collection of MSX games at this point, and I think Super Tritorn may be the single worst game in it. It’s just... so, so clunky, and overly difficult, and

I love good classic box art! I’ve recently been really into MSX gaming, and man does the MSX have some seriously badass box art in its library (in Japan, of course!).

“The PC version is Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair and features an English dub for the first time.”

Erm, it’s an intentionally awful pun. I may be unfunny, but I assure you it’s very much on purpose! Please don’t call me stupid for it, as that really is just rude.

What makes Shigeru Miyamoto tick?

Well said. One could also say that censorship like this may not affect gameplay, but it does affect the story, or the way the story is perceived by the audience. And in an RPG, story is of equal or potentially even greater importance than gameplay.

“Had the changes affected gameplay I might be a little miffed, but they don’t, so I’m not.”

How did you miss mentioning the box art for Ore no Shikabane wo Koete Yuke, a.k.a. the predecessor to the game we got as “Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines” on the Vita? I think I still see this intense baby face in my nightmares to this day!

If Sega revealed that GalaxyTrail, the makers of 2014's amazing Sonic-inspired indie game “Freedom Planet,” were taking over the franchise. Because Freedom Planet is literally the best Sonic-like experience I’ve ever had — it even tops the classic Sega Genesis Sonic games, as far as I’m concerned. And if a small group

I don’t expect I’d enjoy this movie (I have no attachment to Warcraft whatsoever), but numerous hardcore WoW-playing friends of mine saw it... and absolutely loved it. They’ve recommended it wholeheartedly, and seemed positively enthused after seeing it.

Can we talk about the fact that the game is literally called “Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue”?
