When Apple gets 4GB into an iPad, it will take a huge leap forward towards completely replacing laptops. Imagine what creativity and productivity apps could do with that much headroom.

I don't see any way a 4K phone could ever be anything but wasted graphics processing power. It's just not needed and will be totally indiscernible from 1080p at that size. A 4k tablet, maybe...but a 4k phone?

How is 4GB RAM in smartphones necessary? The average consumer is fine with 4GB in laptops. Oh, right. It's so they can add more pixels than the human eye is even capable of seeing. I'd rather have 1080p and 2GB RAM and 2-3 days battery life than 4k, 4GB RAM and less than a day of battery life.

In case you were wandering, this is exactly why battery life is completely stagnant. You invent something that is 40 percent more efficient and your first instinct is to put 50% more of it in there.
