(disregard)
Their options are either retcon it out of existence (which will confuse and turn off more casual fans) or try to salvage it.
To be fair, Disney did it quite sparingly, and even now they don’t advertise nearly as heavily on the voice talent by comparison to their competitors. But yeah, 100% stolen from the Dreamworks playbook, just cranked up to 11.
Lets be clear about it, this is one of those “feature, not a bug” situations.
The channel its posted on, however, is also a fairly curious. It comes, not from a history or policy channel, but from Modern Muscle, a fairly popular YouTube channel with around 306,000 subscribers and several videos with views in the millions. From what I can tell, 99 percent of his content is car related.
Yeah, this is needed but still disappointing.
Mmm, I see what you mean.
I don’t think they should be, frankly.

Yeah, the people personally involved in all this come first, obviously, absolutely, but wooooof you know that a lot of people at Disney are drinking real heavily tonight...
Money.
Look, they’ve already replaced actors in past works, they could easily do it again. You just need to adjust the writing of their first appearance in the work to more properly introduce them, and make a big deal out of it in the adverts and previews that there’s a new actors playing the role.
I wonder if the goal for this ending is to have a sort of backstop in case the new Pokemon cast crashes and burns. Like, they’re trying something new, but if that doesn’t work, well, they have the ability to pull the plug and go “Look, everyone, Ash is back with a new season! But older and with new friends and please…
Eh, I’m not going that far.
It’s not proof of anything, absolutely. It is very circumstantial evidence, at best, fully agreed.
