I wonder how much of the lack of sponsors actually has to do with the whole “Blizzard is a hellscape” thing.

Yeah, exactly. It feels like they took a complex character and made him more bland and one-note in the sequel.

Oh, he absolutely claimed a lot more credit for fixing climate change than he deserved, that’s without question.

That’s not at all what happened?

I’m honestly disappointed in how they handled Ted Faro in Forbidden West.

The problem probably isn’t the pasta but the topping.

Aye. The only issue I have with FFXIV is that I wish they’d update the starting outfit for female characters. I don’t mind the microskirts existing in-game, but it would be nice if the opening cutscenes didn’t include inadvertent upskirt shots...

Oh, they just didn’t care about, you know, normal people enough to save Earth.

I do agree a bit with the criticism that Faro’s characterization felt just... flat. If anything, I think the game Flanderized him a bit.

Ari, if a 1,000-year old roided-out Elizabeth Holmes in a transformer asked you to follow her across the galaxy to reboot life on an alien planet, how would you respond?

Okay, can someone please try to sell me on *why* this is seen as remotely acceptable for a modern primarily single-player game, to not have a pause option?

Mmm, I do think we need to also consider the theming of the two establishments. While I do like Afterlife in ME2, it... really is just a standard bar/nightclub type place. I love the music, but it’s not really anything special.

Hi, please read my post in full next time, where I explicitly state that he’s still outright in the wrong because, even if there was some issue getting in the way of him appearing on time, he was still in the wrong for not addressing the issues, so that you don’t come off like a petty little asshole.

Well, it’s either “I don’t give a damn” late or its “I’m dealing with severe issues relating to the pressure I’m under” late.

Yeah, this is always the big problem with microtransaction monetization of FPS games. First person means you don’t get to see your character, and so much of the fun of customizing your character is getting to see them running around.

They can list the game as “free”?

We all need to keep in mind that the vast majority of publicly traded companies are not going to come out as saying “all NFTs are scams, and Cryptocurrencies aren’t that far behind that” anytime soon.

It feels weird to say, but I do kinda like it when the multinational global corporate entities can be cool with each other from time to time, trading favors for low-impact stuff like this.

Yeah, you can kinda sum up the whole C&D as “...look, guys, legally, we’d be allowed to tear your spines out and wear them as a decorative scarf, metaphorically speaking... but we’d rather not bother. Can you just cut it out before we have to unleash hell, it’ll just be a pain in the ass for everyone involved...”

Even if it was a fully accurate depiction of South Korea’s general morality on women (hint: it’s not, because cultures are not fucking monoliths with only one viewpoint) it would still become fair game to criticize when it’s released here. They packaged it up and localized it and want our money, we’re allowed to say
