Another thing I should mention is that promoting other people's stuff helps too. Even if you don't benefit (but often you do), it's good practice.

I use a variation of this: 17 minutes of work followed by 52 minutes of getting coffee, wandering around the office, and reading Lifehacker.

Nope, that is, in fact, the Bane pose or, if a prop is involved, the "Are you not entertained?!".

Just like the NFL or FIFA isn't required to enjoy sports, but they exist just the same.

Two points:

Thanks. I appreciate the response.

You can make an ebook piracy-proof, but by proxy you're going to make it fan-proof as well.

I just stumbled http://liber.io/ just this week. It lets you publish into eBook format directly from Google Drive and has many of the tools listed above. Free to use for now.

Or you could accept the fact that we write books for people to read them.

Oh MAN how could I have forgotten? That brings back memories. Nothing like shelling out $200 for a textbook only to find out we only read two chapters from it and it's all supplemental reading to something else we can easily get. Good point.

Hahaha, festooned his fortress with fecund flowers...as would I if I were subjected to the flummoxed fortunes of the antidisestablishment. Classic.

I agree with most of this, save the books. If you are in the sciences, the books are actually out of date by the time they're published (usually by 3-4 years), so if you want to keep your basic orgo book from undergrad, fine, but 'classic' immunology text from 2003? Is so out of date at this point it's laughable. All

#8: Undergrads don't think swaggering post-grads are "cool".

As credit counselor and personal finance enthusiast, this is my system for lending money to a good friend:

This looks like a very well-designed notes solution. I like that the section can collapse, yet can be "in your face" if you need it to be.

Hahaha, well it is a flame war after all! Gotta be somewhat inflammatory :P. I was kind of just writing that age-old thing that people have said a thousand times before and put the mic drop because generally those people are closed to having an actual conversation about it. I had a hunch that I'd get people talking

Couldn't agree more.

I guess I'm a bad person. My parents live 2 time zones away, I surely will not move back to nowheresville to take care of them when they're old. Them expecting me to would be ridiculous as well.

From experience (we have 15 of these at work) buy the boards from Home Depot and NOT from Lowes. Turns out all "white boards" are not created equal.
