Nobody is going to buy a $40,000 economy car, and batteries are still far too expensive - even if they hit their optimistic $/capacity target - to charge economy car prices. So upmarket is the only place to be right now for EVs with decent range.
Pontiac as the ‘muscle car’ EV brand just might work.
It’s a race to get batteries below $100/kWh and GM will likely beat Tesla to it. The further you can drive the cost of the battery down, the lower the price you can charge for the car.
If GM management could actually find anyone as sensible and knowledgeable as you in their product development ranks I’m sure they’d be fired within the week.
My main point being that it’s a 5 door car that normally would be like 22k if it was an ICE car. You have to save a lot on gas for that payoff to make sense.
What’s it lease for? GM MSRPs are a polite fiction at best.
Neutral: If Barra can bring back Hummer, she can goddamn well bring back Pontiac. Fuck, Hummer, I want Pontiac back.
You know what I don’t need? Screens that stretch from pillar to pillar. There are a limited number of things I need to know while I’m driving. Speed, maybe the remaining range, and then the info about what song is playing, or what playlist I’m on.
...and you are an idiot. The U.S would implode in about 35 seconds if we implemented the same policies as a state 40% smaller than DFW.
Where is the balance point? The EU started as international collaborative treaties that didn’t supercede national sovereignty of participating nations.
You missed the point entirely.
The problem is when Brussels takes your money and spends it according to their wishes, instead of yours. which is exactly what happened and why we are where we are here, today.
That is making significant assumptions that the economic environment in the EU will improve under that huge centrally planned bureaucracy of disparate nations; and the economic environment in a self-controlled UK will get worse.
National sovereignty has been an issue as long as there have been nations.
Undoubtedly BREXIT is a mess...
maybe do something different and more interesting with the format
This fear mongering sentiment for a virus that is HIGHLY unlikely to do anything of material damage to anyone under the age of 70 and in reasonable good health is why we can’t have nice things.
But some of the comments are gold:
Interesting... Next can we get a team to piss off Putin and get itself banned from Russia, so we don’t have the perennially-craptacular Russian Grand Prix on the calendar?
