LOL, spot on.
LOL, spot on.
My apologies Alex. Well done!
Lol, sorry but I disagree.
Submarines also can’t go more than 30, MAYBE 35 knots. Something every vehicle in that shot can achieve easily. I love F&F movies but I was practically yelling at the screen during that scene “how fast do you think people think submarines can actually travel?!?!”
Additionally, I love how a “manifold” failure results in part of the floor falling out. What the fuck is the connection there? LOL.
THIS. Thanks to movies the common joe assumes that all cars will burst into flames whenever involved in a huge crash/fall. Or if you shoot the fuel tank with bullets.
Umm, Nitrogen is mostly inert and unaffected by gasoline engines. Except of course, newer DI engines with super high CRs. Which are finally being cracked down on with exhaust filters, similar to diesels.
I’ll grant you the “drive off your route” reason, mostly because I’m very particular about the fuel I put in my car. However, the cheapest gas in my city is also very close to me so the two overlap quite a bit. Otherwise no, it doesn’t take more than 5 minutes to stop and put 10-14 gallons of 93 into the tank.
Takes about 10 seconds for anyone with a grasp of the automotive world to point out flaws in that ridiculous “comparison”.
Uhh, what? A properly running ICE puts out almost nothing but CO2. What local pollution are we referring to?
Agreed that it’ll happen eventually, but even today’s Leaf cost is artificially set low. And doesn’t compare too favorably with similar ICE cars.
If you break it down to a state level you’ll see that the states putting emphasis on “renewables” have electrical prices increasing, in some cases a lot.
Probably because I can fill up my car in less than 5 minutes. 5 minutes to get enough fuel for 10 days (around town). Might as well be 0 minutes.
I’m not saying you’re wrong (in general) but that specific study/comparison was complete crap.
Maybe I missed this in an earlier comment, but they’re not cheaper because the EV is significantly more expensive to purchase in the first place. Nevermind most EVs are also still sold at a loss.
The big problem I have with this is that you shouldn’t need to put a BMW sedan into SPORT PLUS mode for it to be a fun and notable driving experience.
FYI the fuel mpg figures Alex is mentioning are Imperial. Keep that in mind before being amazed.
Just give them red and green turtle shells and be done with it.
I’ve owned at least one Honda continuously since 1997, and I just cannot reconcile with their current designs. Will never purchase one.
And yet, CO2's max effectiveness as a greenhouse gas (per molecule) is around 200 ppm. It decreases the higher you go. So that just leaves “modeling” to account for future doom and gloom. Such robust science! And even more credible are people pushing the least likely and most extreme scenario from the annual reports.
