Until the cars are faster than Formula 3 or Indy Lights, I don’t care. And additionally as long as it remains a spec series I won’t care. It could have 20 different car makes! Makes no difference if they’re spec. I don’t follow IndyCar for the same reason.

Very good point. I suppose they could have used a flat 4 but Porsche would never associate their top of the heap race car with their “budget” sports car, lol.

I’m not opposed to embracing the future. I am opposed to boring inferior cars, especially those basically being pushed by government agendas (mostly European).

As long as IndyCar remains a spec series it won’t hold much interest for me, but at least the new 2018 car looks good!

I’ve never had much love for the modern LMP1s, as they’re ugly (in my eyes) and I’ve never cared for the emphasis on hybrid power over ICE power. But dammit all just about ANYTHING is better than Formula E.

I disagree. The cars are boring heavy and slow. And it would take a massive leap in technology just to make them as fast as a run of the mill “normal” race car.

Why? A Formula E car has nothing in common with any Porsche sports car. And God willing I hope that day doesn’t come for a very very long time.

I wouldn’t care if every single car manufacturer had a team entry in Formula E. Shit’s boring. Force feeding us EV crap doesn’t magically make people interested.

I disagree. I specifically send my oil to Blackstone so I know roughly how long I can leave the oil in my car. And all the oil samples I’ve ever sent them have had at least 5000-10000 miles of use (depends on which of my cars we’re talking about).

Work on your reading comprehension maybe? I never said the NSX doesn’t handle well. Probably because it’s not the least bit true.

I can see why engine noise could keep conventional race cars out of metro areas, but “pollution”? Lol, unless you’re some anal retentive European city, I doubt it.

You must not know much about handling if you think you can’t have one without the other.

If the future is numb steering, 1000 lb of additional hybrid crap, automatic transmissions and pedestrian engine notes then you can keep it. I’ll stick with the present.

I’m fairly certain the Chiron would weight a few hundred pounds more were it hybrid.

Can someone break it down for me and explain how Euron’s forces built that many ships that quickly and with superior firepower to Yara’s fleet? Moreso, where the fuck did all the wood come from? The Iron islands are small and don’t have a lot of trees. Someone please explain that glaring plot hole.

Hell no. Thank God it isn’t a hybrid. Thankfully they didn’t make the same mistake as Acura or Porsche.

Amen to that. I don’t give two shits about hybrid and electric motor junk. Also think it’s embarrassing that Porsche is using a V4 arrangement.

Not really. Today’s cars aren’t straight line faster than the mighty Group C cars of the 80s and early 90s. They’re mostly faster around a track due to aero and tire tech advancement.

Not negative enough! >.< lol

Heh, a lot? Every single front engined Porsche sports car ever made has it’s transmission in the rear. So yeah, a lot. ;-)

A mid-engine car has it’s mass centralized and thus has a lower polar moment of inertia. This makes it easier to change directions (and also to spin and easier to stop spinning - assuming a proper suspension set up). This also makes it more likely to spin around itself, instead of lopping off in a massive arc.
