Technically, this is the first anime to air dubbed in English BEFORE Japan. But there have been two near simul-broadcasts before in the US (Season 1 of IGPX and Kurokami,which both aired here, dubbed, mere days after each episode aired in Japan).

Why is it that issues like this always seem to affect the finals? Whenever I hear about tournament-halting issues in fighting game competitions, its always during the finals.

Its not a big hindrance though. At the very least searching the English title should bring up the Wikipedia page, which will also list the JP title. And just like that, in under a minute, you know what the original Japanese title was.
