let them fight

Truth as an aspect of governance is an underrated concept One Piece explores. Not just the void century & the empty throne, but you got it on a more micro level with Doflamingo who came into power by creating a false perception that Riku-the-pacifist is a violent tyrant or Arlong subjugating Coco Village and bribing

I mean, One Piece isn’t an endorsement of monarchy either. The kings and princesses are just shorthand to represent a country with characters and different sorts of leadership in the process (Riku the pacifist, Wapol the greedy buffoon, etc). One Piece has a theme about inequality though, and that a country’s leaders

Kings and Princesses are just used as short hands to give country characters that represent them. Its not an endorsement of any sort of system of governance. The Celestial Dragons are absolutely representative of a tyrannical 1% hierarchy that will ruthlessly and brutally do anything to sustain itself and the

Calling Luffy a freedom fighter fundamentally a misunderstanding of Luffy. That’s not Luffy’s motivation - he’s on an adventure and has simple desires. sowing freedom is a byproduct of his passage through his world - he leaves it in his wake. One of the aspects of his character is he’s a stand in for wish fulfillment

I certainty prefer original Gamecube direction on the boat ‘See ya!’, but that’s on the voice director, not the actor. The actor is just reading lines off an excel, they context they’re given is from the voice director. certainty nothing that justifies this sort of backlash. Gamers here are just ignorant assholes.

not really. E3 was as much as a ‘trick’ to consumer as anything else today. So many of the game demos shown were smoke and mirrors, rarely indicative of a final product. The same rule of thumb applies today as it did in 2000: wait for a game to come out before rushing out and preordering it..

as a game dev, the best casualty of the death of E3 is the ‘E3 demo’ which would often derail development and divert resources on smoke/mirrors to make an incomplete game playable on the tradeshow floor.

the murder weapon was the nintendo direct. it’s been bleeding out ever since.

that’s cool. just don’t expect to play pokemon go.

you DEFINETLY need to go outside. leave the cellphone at home, i don’t care, just go touch some grass, nerd.

i get this is a thing but it does not seem unreasonable to me to insist the players of pokemon go adhere to the core concept of the game and ‘go’ off the coach.

A Nintendo bad is everyone else’s good, comparatively.

3D World over Odyssey is a bold choice.

go outside nerds

desantis looking for a sword while his opponent only needs a pen

this is going to stay on steam for like 5 minutes

he is very lucky and privileged to have all the resources and time to dedicate for this recovery. many others aren’t so lucky.

they did the same thing with that Nickelodeon one

there’s a real problem with a lot of game designers in the game industry around games with competitive components... they like hardcore competitive games, are drawn to making them, and end up deifying the most inaccessible competitive mechanics and need to be deprogrammed/reigned in by more wiser senior designers.
