I read somewhere that the head of the GT division said that all GT cars (except GT2) will always be normally aspirated. They’ve made all the high volume cars turbo so they can keep their corporate average c02 emissions low and still offer the “polluting” GT cars.

He’s not full of shit, and did say the Cayman was “detune[d] a little less” than the Boxster, meaning the Cayman always had more power, as you said. Granted, that can be a bit confusing, but cool your jets iceman.

That’s what he said. Perhaps “detune it less” was too hard for you to understand.

No, my comment was directed at the morons for thinking “its a shitty 4cylinder” that will degrade the brand and nameplate, which the overall sentiment seems to be. Porsche makes a fantastic engine and will do the same with a four cylinder, however in my original post I did say it will suffer acoustically.

Nope, it is still there. Look at the cars top down. Its actually really cool. Everyone rags on NASCAR for being such a redneck hick sport, but the amount of science and engineering to get so much out of such tight rules is fantastic.

When autonomous cars eventually become sentient, I’d rather they not be armed with lasers.

Anyone else think parking a Porsche that close to water without any sort of curb is Risky Business?

Yea, sorry for the misprint. Got excited!

it’s on the FIAT USA site, so I’d expect so.

I had to scroll WAY to far to find this

Miata is always the answer. I don’t care what the EPA estimates are, anyone who has driven one of these machines extensively will tell you that the amount of fuel you use relative to the amount of time you spend at 5k rpm is shockingly small.

I see Northrup is following the Porsche design philosophy: why fix when it ain’t broken.

My old home track (also was the longstanding track for the AutoX nationals) had an increasing radius going onto the straight. Now, normally that is a good thing, but in this case the straight was the dragstrip and at the end of the corner there was a transition from the concrete to the asphalt.

Holy shit. I’m a dumbass. Thanks for correcting me. No one can make themselves look as stupid as ourselves.

The...the location change IS that great. One of them is 64.6 and the other is 65.6, which is...one mile apart. “2 miles away” and “1 mile away” are...one mile apart.

Fun fact you can get one with a factory snorkel

There are already complaints of bias towards a particular manufacturer:

Correct as usual. The rally’s themselves are sponsored and as a stipulation many of them dictate that all cars entered in the rally wear sponsor decals for the duration of the event. The owners don’t want to put the stickers on necessarily, it’s just a stipulation of the event.

Doh. Yes. I meant GT4. GTS will have the flat four tuned to 370ish.

I’m going back to the sloth story
