You are half-correct. “Mean” and “average” are the same thing. The term you are looking for is “median.”

“Remember. The average IQ is 100. So half the population is below that line. There are a lot of stupid people out there.”
For swirls, rotate the bag in small circles as you pipe, then pull up.
Third-ed in lieu of giving a 70th star.
I can rest assured that when I forget these things, There’s

How do you figure that? Most people could buy a nice house, pay off all of their debt, make a generous donation to a charitable trust and set themselves and their children up for life (i.e. education and comfortable-if-not-opulent retirement paid for) with $5-10M or less. Couldn’t you easily afford a Veyron and…
In the U.S., at least, you’re lucky if the water is anywhere near boiling. The biggest problem here is that the water is almost never hot enough.
Oof. I deserved that.
“How can we know we’re better than someone if they look like us?!”
They were asking for everyone’s favorite leftover side dish, not entree.
You are not alone. I am also a fan of savory over sweet in general, but prefer radlers and fruity beers to the vast majority of IPAs. I think my palette is just more sensitive to bitter flavors than most peoples’. Though I also like sours, wheat beers, stouts and well, almost anything else that isn’t hop-forward.
I could say the same thing about your question; the answers and comments in this column boil down to “yes, you should tip 20% no matter what” so often that it comes as no surprise to me that many servers would feel entitled to get tipped well no matter what. My bar for “good service” isn’t that high, but it does…

This also applies to those shelf-stable milk cartons - hold them horizontally with the spout near the top edge, instead of vertically with the spout at the bottom edge. It’s almost impossible not to spill if you try to pour from a newly-opened one with the spout at the bottom.
Egg-drop soup. For me, the extra body from the cornstarch and the eggs helps it go down more gently and makes it more soothing compared to regular chicken soup.
A strong argument that plaintiffs whose suits are dismissed with prejudice should have to pay at least the court’s costs for the suits, and possibly at least a portion of the defendant’s.
I see your point, but the intent (or spirit, at least) of social security is for it to be a safety net, not an investment scheme. IMO anyone who is still earning enough that they don’t really need it (through work and/or investment income) shouldn’t mind if they get slightly less than the full amount and the…
We could go back and forth all day on this. I do appreciate your thoughtful answers, but I’ll just say that I still believe that any god that chooses to visit punishment on innocent children (or really any other innocent beings) for the sins of others, or (tangentially) punish otherwise good and kind people who happen…
You didn’t answer my question at all. When a kid gets cancer or some other horrible disease and dies from it, no one did anything evil or wrong. How does your worldview explain how a benevolent higher power (or one worth of worship) allows that? Saying “God works in mysterious ways” isn’t going to convince me or…
