Also why breakfast cereal is so much better in milk. And why I occasionally (OK, almost every day) put a handful of cheerios into my tea or coffee.

To remove the seasoning you can also put the pan in the oven on the self-cleaning cycle, if it has one.
And it popped up for me yesterday. I’ve seen this happen several times with other stories. There might be some kind of automated algorithm that promotes old posts.

Right. And while it is ridiculous that some stores will have different units on each label, almost everyone has a smartphone that will quickly convert units for you (just Google “12 ounces in quarts” for example).
“It’s great to use for sweaters, *which* are better washed than dry cleaned, but that don’t like to be overhandled” (emphasis mine).

The *IRS* probably doesn’t care about this but if you’re committing fraud by living in NYC most of the month and not paying NYC taxes I’m sure the city and state tax authorities would be interested in knowing about it; the IRS is not the only agency that can perform audits. That said, it’s not like the city has a list…
Dunhumby’s analysts note that TJ’s lacks the variety of non-food items that larger, traditional supermarkets have. But because TJ’s isn’t trying to sell candles and small appliances and 20 types of paper towels, “this loss is also their gain, since it allows them to be excellent at what matters most to their…
A bit late here, but if a product is popular it would likely only be discontinued if the supplier no longer makes it or jacks up the price to a point that TJ does not want to sell it for. In some cases popular items have returned (occasionally from a new supplier) after customer feedback, so if something you like…
Fizzy Lifting Drink!
No. Mason jars are much heavier and don’t stack as well. Plus they don’t work as well for solid/chunky foods because the opening isn’t as wide. And you can’t freeze and defrost them as easily. And as others pointed out the plastic ones are reusable. Shall I go on? :-)
That’s beside the point. VCs have to put their money *somewhere* and Juicero is out of business.
It is :-). Another great thing about salads with heartier ingredients like both of these is that they make great leftovers along with the rest of the Thanksgiving spread.
I dunno - I find that a few bites of acidic greens here and there allow me to shove several more bites of fat and carbs down my throat than I would otherwise be able to. It’s like the time I entered a Chicken McNugget eating contest - I wasn’t full when I tapped out, but another one would have sent me running for the…
Hm. I’ve made this salad (https://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/kale-and-brussels-sprout-salad) every year for the past eight years and there might be a mutiny if I didn’t bring it. Guess we might have two (!) on the table this year. If anyone decides to make the BA one, it is better if you do most of the work the day…
Needs some work but this almost has the makings of a Takeout Draft Rap Battle.
Is this supposed to be a new thing? I did a semester abroad in Oz in 2000 and the McD’s there had Aussie Burgers (definitely with beetroot and egg, can’t remember if there was pineapple) back then.
They do but it only really matters if you are near one of the cutoffs between Fair/Good/Excellent and plan to apply for a mortgage, auto or other loan or application that requires a credit check in the next year. In the last two months I’ve applied for a mortgage refi, student loan refi and a new cc and my score has…
This looks great. We’ve making a simpler version with just trout, cream cheese, lemon juice and salt & pepper so next time we’ll at least add some dill. For a stronger fish flavor you can use smoked mackerel instead.
I get the theory behind that, but is there really enough steam coming out of the entire surface of the chicken to prevent any oil getting in? Given the fat content of chicken fried at higher temperatures, we know some oil does get absorbed no matter what.
Except 2020 is the end of the current decade. There was no Year 0.
