Indeed! I don't think my hubby and I would answer those questions the same way either... and we've been together for almost 20 years.
I lived in a ~620 sq ft studio apartment once. It was a rectangular shape, with a couple of walls, and it was laid out just right, with a bedroom, a living area, kitchen, and (tiny) bathroom. I did this right out of college, and even with all the stuff I had, it's surprising what you can fit in that kind of space.

I knit. Sometimes I play games on my mobile, but mostly I knit.
I don't disagree with you. People *should* learn in order to add more value to themselves, streamline what they do, etc. But they don't, because people are inherently lazy for exactly the reason you said: they're comfortable with the process and it's the way it's always been done. And that's just shameful and sad.
I think the problem with your example (not that I have an issue with what you did) is that most people who are proficient in Excel don't feel the need (*or are not sufficiently motivated) to learn a programming language like Ruby, or spend the time to get really familiar and comfortable with R, to be able to do…
Totally. Add pivot tables to that list too - such an easy and powerful data summary tool, and it scares most people (even those who claim to be "power users")
Just as easy: cut the cotton pads you're using in half, lightly dip them with nail polish remover, put the pad on your fingertip, and then put tinfoil over your fingers tightly. You can just sit for 5 minutes or so and the polish will come right off (with maybe a light wipe) when you remove the foil and the pad.
Salespeople, executives, annoying guys who send high priority emails and then come over 5 seconds after they hit send to confirm that you got the email. I always had headphones/earbuds/something on, and would just keep working straight through (even if I didn't have music running). If a sign didn't discourage them,…
Hey, as long as they don't morph the name into something that's got a pin-up girl eating a candy bar, it's all good.
I would have preferred Key Lime Pie to an obvious commercial connection, but whatever.

I don't buy the line at the very end (the fine print, per se) that states a job could do lasting damage to your resume. How, exactly, does any position do that (unless you have a string of 2 months here, 3 months there, for your entire career history)?
I find it odd that they needed a survey/study for this. It stands to reason that apologizing for something means admitting that you were wrong. No one likes to admit that they're wrong. So yeah, it makes sense that refusing to apologize makes you feel more empowered - you're in control, and you believe that you're…
" It's not only possible to change jobs but it is easy too. I know of people who were able to quit one job and get hired within 2 weeks by another company within the Valley. The market is still going great there."
I'm 41 (on the edge of 42), and I've been at 6 companies (technically, it's 7, but two of them are connected via a strange subsidiary/parent arrangement that is not normal by any means). I'm also in Silly dotcom Valley, if that helps - job hopping is almost the norm around here. I was at one of my positions for 8.5…
Try this: make the distractions a reward. Granted, you cannot control distractions like the guy in the next cubicle watching the latest viral YouTube sensation, or the annoying girl who wants to come over and chat like there's no tomorrow. You're still going to have to manage them. If the office being noisy is an…
In California, it's still on the top right corner for the sticker (top left is for the month of registration, which is permanently on the plate).
Now you've covered online gaming. How about board gaming wallpapers? I'm not talking Monopoly, here. Let's see Kingmaker, Tara, Runebound, Hannibal: from Rome to Carthage, Arkham Asylum, Kill Doctor Lucky.... A well set up chess set, or a Scrabble board?
