Yeah, I can see that, but the article could have at least mentioned MHP. The way it's written, you wouldn't know that there was another diverse Sunday morning news talk show available.

Yes, thanks! I had the same reaction. I <3 #nerdland!
Hmm. That's a new one for me. I kind of like it.
Remora (fish), Any of eight species of marine fishes of the family Echeneidae (order Perciformes) noted for attaching themselves to, and riding about on, sharks...
OMG IT'S NOT ONLY ME?!?!?
This, thank you. I was also annoyed by her characterization of them.
You are my hero for today.
I wasn't blaming it "entirely" on the legal situation. Are some cultures more oppressive toward women than others? Absolutely.
Ummmmm... until just a few days ago, non-Native American men could essentially attack Native women on tribal land with impunity, and so they did. It had to do with legal jurisdictions, limited resources for tribal cases, blah, blah. Basically, non-Native men knew they'd get away with it 99% of the time, so they…
I'm not going to waste time arguing, but I will point out that not all disabled people are VISIBLY disabled. I have a friend in her early 30's who has a terrible case of arthritis that causes debilitating knee pain. People routinely make obnoxious remarks about her being "lazy" when she uses a scooter at the grocery…
Yeah, I knew this was Lord Volde—, whoops, I mean Hugo Schwyzer, just from the title. Sigh.
I know that's how people justify it, but I would personally feel forever awful if I made even just ONE person wait by doing that.
Um, no, thank gawd, and I would no longer consider a person a friend if they did something that selfish and obnoxious.
Yep. Totally agree with you. This is a huge pet peeve of mine. I've casually pointed this out to friends who go straight to the handicap stall just for convenience, and they just respond by being puzzled. Sigh.
I don't get what the big deal is about this. I grew up in a big city and used public restrooms all the time. My mom taught me this trick as one more way to avoid germs. I only do it with the industrial toilets that have a big metal knob. Are you seeing people do this with normal toilets that have small handles??
Yeah, generalizing doesn't help anyone. I'm sure there are people who use crying to manipulate, but not everyone who cries publicly is trying to manipulate others.
Lundy Bancroft, an expert on domestic violence, has blogged quite a bit about crying and its therapeutic effects. You might want to Google him, as I think you'd appreciate his viewpoint. And fwiw, I'm a lady (who happens to have a successful professional job in corporate America, for what that's worth), and I think…
I'm very uncomfortable with the term "gray rape." That aside...
Yes, that too.
Short of writing a dissertation on pathological narcissism, which I don't have the time for, I would recommend doing some reading on what narcissism is really about. It's far more than just vanity, although the irony of a pathological narcissist writing about vanity was at least worth a laugh here.
