This is true, assuming someone comes up with those applications. I’ve said the same thing for the Kinect and to a lesser extent the Wii, Wii U, and Playstation Move. Sadly games made for those devices never received the funding or the thought to really do anything truly unique to set them apart, and thus never really

Yeah, that’s the biggest thing that makes it seem less useful to me. The tech is cool, but not having it fill a larger field of vision really limits its applications, particularly for gaming.

Most of what I’m thinking of is virtual board games and the like. God/Sim games could be pretty good with it, as could strategy games. I don’t see it making any major waves in the gaming space, though. Much like the Kinect before it, it will likely find more use in other applications.

Not sure where the “indefinitely” comes from. No new release date and “indefinitely” are very different things. Sad to see it delayed, but I try to keep up enough with it, and keep a decent enough understanding of development, that I’m not really that surprised. They vastly underestimated their timeline with the game,

I’m actually kinda curious what Nintendo will do with the processing power necessary to make environments like this (when/if they get to that point). I mean, there’s always improvements that can be made, but I wonder what the upper limit is on games going for art direction more like Galaxy or 3D World, and if it would

Game looks really cool, but it gives me a bit of a feeling that it will fall to the same trappings that Starbound has been caught in, mostly that the universe is a little too big and it’s hard to get a sense of progression or a place to call home. The suit upgrades for different environments is basically the same, too.

In some ways, Chiba said, the goal of this game is to introduce a new generation of people to Final Fantasy, because today’s teens aren’t growing up with characters like Locke and Cecil anymore.

It’s worth noting that babies wait to be born until you have space. I had all 25 of my females pregnant at once, but no room for more dwellers. I let nonessential dwellers build up agility and perception during this time. The next day, I built some rooms, instant child army, but my leveled up dwellers handled the load

I don’t mind the fact that it’s cutesy, but just from this teaser it just looks... bad. Like, I’d put it about at the level that I’d put their mobile games at. It even has the random Cloud thrown in because obviously that’ll make FF fans want it.

And that’s all I wanted to know.

Yeah, I can see that. It is interesting to see the dynamics going on and little jabs here and there. You do lose that somewhat with Nintendo, but really, they’ve been off in their own little world for a while now, even before the Direct videos.

Ultimately they decided just doing a direct stream to the players is better. In the end it’s the same effect - they announce games, let everyone know what’s coming, but without all the awkward live stage goofiness. They just get to plan it out exactly, and not have to pay for the venue. In the past when they’ve just

Not as ridiculous as another home console this soon, I think. And not really beyond Nintendo, they released the 3DS not too long after they released the DSi, which is essentially what the NN3DS is to the 3DS.

To be fair the jaggies aren’t as obvious on the 3DS proper, 3DS games just look awful in screenshots.

Good movie, awful Final Fantasy movie. I liked a lot of things about it, it just wasn’t what you’d expect with something with Final Fantasy in the name. Ignore that fact and it’s easier to appreciate it.

So how is the PS TV at being a media player at this point? For $40 I’d consider getting it over other streaming boxes if it’s half decent, just for the option of maybe getting some games for it. Mostly, can it do Netflix, Prime and DLNA?

More a fan of Roll20.net myself. Similar functionality, easier to get players to use it since it’s entirely browser based. MapTool is a bit more robust, at least compared to the free version of Roll20, but also a bit more complicated to use. Not that I got to use it much, my group never was good at downloading things.

Mouse controls from what I played, unsure if there are keyboard controls.

Actually live in Washington now, about 3 hours away. Tempting, and Monday is still available, which is actually ideal for me... But money, hrm...

Yup, confirmed it the other day through support that I’ve been banned. I’ve only used DS2Fix. Still enjoying the game, but hate that I can’t do co-op. Not too upset about the lack of invasions.
