It’s not always about what the bride and groom want. I had a big wedding because of my parents and his. That’s what they wanted and it was important to them. We suffered through it.

Judaism taught me to question doctrinal thinking, that the most important thing is that you are a good person who does good works, that other religions are valid, and that the health and life of the mother are more important than a fetus. Belief in god wasn’t emphasized in school or at temple - it was about what you

I wish I had a gif of Anna Gasteyer shaking her boobs in that SNL skit of Martha. Here’s the stills

Trump looked unhinged in the debates IMO. That’s not me trying to be unfair or overly judgmental towards Trump; I just couldn’t believe how crazy and belligerent he came off.

Isn’t Griner guilty under Russian law, though? She admitted she carried the hash oil, and while I don’t know the details of Russian law, I doubt it requires intent to break the law for drug possession. It doesn’t sound like the hash oil was planted on her, nor that it belonged to someone else, so there’s the “knowing”

It is protected speech. It’s arguably more protected than protesting at a clinic, because clinics can have orbits within which protesters can’t protest. A street in front of someone’s home is a public place. Let’s not forget that BLM protesters went directly to people’s homes to protest, with our full support. There

Huh. This is the first season I’m not that into. I thought the first two were fanstastic - dark and fresh, with the fantastic focus on Homelander and Stormfront’s sociopathy, but I just get meh from this season.

Loving v. Virginia had nothing to do with interstate commerce. It was decided on due process.

Plenty of people have mental illnesses. She’s been working, caring for her children, and hasn’t had a break with reality or an apparent crises in years. It is VERY unusual for a conservatorship to last this long. People deserve independence when they are adults with mental illness who are not a danger to themselves or

Lady Gaga flying through the air didn’t do it for you?

Well, he played himself in Uncut Gems, doing coke in the bathroom with Adam Sandlers’ girlfriend. And that was an acceptable version of himself for the screen (we’re not talking about a funny cameo in Entourage here).

The maze scene drove me crazy, but I loved the performance overall. Not one of the best compared to the female musical acts in recent years, but levels above crap like Maroon 5. I loved the sets and the songs, but my god, the filming of it drove me nuts.

It would be funny if they worked a Matt Gaetz joke in there somewhere.

Agree with everything except Steve Martin. There is never a bad moment for Steve Martin to appear.

Disagree. The episode was hilarious and filled with very Dan Levy moments, especially on the Hollywood Tour. The cold open was fabulous, and for the first time in a while, the monologue was funny (especially seeing Eugene Levy in a glass cage (of emotion)). The Zillow ad - porn for people in their late 30's - was

Could Jezebel please make me black? I have been reading Jezebel since 2010, and the best part is the community and the comments - in which I used to love participating. I slowly dropped off and basically don’t read because there’s no joy when you feel like you’re not even engaging with people.

Adam Driver seems delightful. His turn on Last Week Tonight after a year of John Oliver weirdly sexually harassing him with really bizarre violent imagery.

He apologized for his attack and told the police he thought he had killed her. That shows consciousness of guilt and that he was in touch with reality. He might get the benefit of some diversionary programs, but he has no credible claim to a mental illness defense under the law.

Should have kept the movie in NY, in my opinion. Lost opportunity to mine Murphy’s and Hall’s reactions.

Check out Palm Springs. Delightful. As was the series Ted Lasso.
