If a police officer cannot verbally calm down or physically restrain without violence and injury on someone he’s probably eight inches taller than and outweighs by 60-80 lbs, he needs some remedial training. Seriously.

Not to diminish your hopes, but I teach at a university, and this would be pretty good writing for our students. I doubt all of them could properly define or use ‘antagonist,’ for instance.

Former middle school teacher here: the best thing to do is to separate the antagonists from their peer audience. Once they have no face to lose, they calm down swiftly. I would really expect anybody who has worked with this age group to know that. I sincerely hope that asshole, big MAN is convicted of assault.

When I was barely 30 a 47 year old guy asked me out, but told me he was looking to get married, because “after 50 it might get harder to date young women.” And then he invited me over to his place for dinner, which he proudly told me would be tuna casserole.

Police are not good tools of discipline at a school. They often cause the situation to escalate instead of calm down. It takes a different skill set to handle discipline and maintaining order in schools. Middle school is rough and trying.

OH AND HOW COULD I FORGET. This poor poor guy she is accusing... does he have his whole bright future in front of him? is it super promising? WELL THEN, the police might think twice before bringing charges because EVEN IF THEY THINK her ‘story’ might hold water...what if she is a lying whore trying to ruin his life?

Maybe a blue plaque system, like in the UK for historical residences.

Also did anyone SEE the rape happen? Like was there a room full of people watching him rape her? That would really help the police build a case. IF NOT...

And does the Lady who is accusing this poor young man have a boyfriend? When ladies have boyfriends they lie about having sex with other men so as to not get into trouble with they boyfriend, you know? So they say it was rape. DUH.

It’s a good start, as long as they continue. I’m not even thinking big gestures, but a plaque even every other time there’s something like this to tell—the sheer ubiquity may impart something to people who have continued to ignore, willfully or reflexively, a fuller version of history.

Common mistake. See, it’s only “illegal” if you can pay for the rape kit that better have DNA, and have so many injuries that it looks like you were dropped off a 3 story building. And even then it’s “he said, she said” issue, depending on what you were wearing at the time and whether the “rapist” is someone you might

“9 year old girls should be playing with dolls, not trying to be reporters,”

I love that she reads those awful, shitty comments back to them - if you think her repeating them is inappropriate, then perhaps you shouldn’t have been cussing at a 9 year old on the internet?

My neighbor. I was at a town council meeting last night where she respectfully pressed the mayor for an update on when a new police officer will be hired. She's a phenomenon.

Now playing

This is one badass kid, and professional as all get-out to boot. You bet your ass she’s withholding the name of the victim to make sure friends and family are told first!

Eh, they tell boys they should be macho and they should play sports and they should be able to fight and they should fuck as many girls as possible and they should do a bunch of boy-shit. I understand your point and agree that sentiment is utter bullshit, but it’s not really fair to keep setting up this false

“If you want me to stop covering news, then you get off your computer and do something about the news,” she suggested. “There, is that cute enough for you?”

“they were reporting the wrong news...OR NO NEWS AT ALL”

Go Hilde! It would also appear that none of her critics have ever seen almost any kids movie from the 80s / 90s because this is the plot of almost all of them.
