No but serisouly I see your point. Gothic horror is a bit problematic as it tends to be very clishéd subject. But like the Bloodborne and Darkest Dungeon displayed, it can still be done in a way that does not make you roll your eyes.

There is a severe lack of proper Lovecraftian games (the ones that take themselves and the subject matter seriously), hopefully in the wake of Bloodborne we’ll start to see more of those.
Well... I am a jaded cynic who’s heart has frozen and turned black. So I suppose you are right.
True. My problem is with the people and not the films, per say. I’m just directing my frustration towards them instead of the real problem.
Yeah, not all of them can be winners... I’m afraid.
Oh I do agree. Completely. I try to get people watch something different, and every now and then succeed. But I guess it’s the human nature to seek something safe and familiar.
Thanks. No I totally agree. As much as I, uh, personally don’t care for Ghibli films, I won’t deny their appeal. It’s just that some change would be nice for once in a while.
I don’t actually have taste buds anymore. I lost them in the war in a unfortunate fondue accident. So everything I eat taste like flavorless pudding.
Well in our movie nights / film club (sans the club part), we ended up watching GitS (yawn) and Memories for the second night... As for the first one, that was pure Ghibli night. A few that I’m planning:
Maybe I should have specified that I was talking about adult audiences, not kids, like this article specifies. A bit awkward tangent, I agree.
Shure I agree. Food for the masses... But just because they are niche, it doesn’t mean that unacquainted people couldn’t enjoy some other anime movies for a change... And maybe in future they wouldn’t have to be that niche anymore as a result...
Well, as I don’t tend to watch only the family friendly stuff, so I’m not be the best man for the job. But here’s a few movies to consider, a bit different each, not too kiddy but still should suitable for all audiences.
A personal gripe.
Danganronpa is a bit differnt kind of waifu simulator... Don’t get too attached.
Y-yeah...
Aka. how Snake/Big Boss hauls his victims targets.
We are.
I won’t cry over this since I’ve been purchasing all my games ever since I got Steam (which is quite a while ago). But that being said, f*ck Denuvo and it’s performance throttling feature, extended load times and SSD devouring tendencies. The whole cat and mouse play between DRM and pirates is one damn catch 22 indeed.
Crisis on Infinite Chells?
That bonfire looks kinda sad.
