Finland FTW!
One thing that often gets overlooked is the numbers. Today there are way more games being released than there ever has been before. When back in 1990's you'd be lucky to have a game release every few months (with little guarantee of quality beforehand), today there are multiple well made games being released every…
Majority of machinima is... not funny, grating even. To that I agree. FM is pretty much the only one I ever watch.
But that does not stop me from being disgusted at Machinima's actions.
Well, I happen to like Freeman's Mind quite a lot, but all to their own.
However, whether or not you like Ross Scott's work, his mission to create better machinima site deserves recognition in the light of Machinima's recent developement.
Oh yes. Ross Scott, the creator of Freeman's Mind got pretty awfully axed by Machinima, repeatedly, to the face... And now it's nice to know that since then he has not only gotten back to his feet, but also has basically created an competing site, a better site for machinima creators.
Slightly off topic, but it's amazing that in this scene there are only 6 stasis pods. Because the budget of the movie could not allow constructing more than that they used cleverly placed mirror to create the illusion of more pods.
Knowing this you can actually see where the mirror is supposed to be. Simple but really…
At first I read "RIP George Martin" and for a moment my heart froze thinking George R. R. Martin had died... Geez.
I do not mean to offend, but it boggles my mind how anyone who considers themselves any sort of critic would think that Beyond: Two Souls has anything related to a functional plot. It does not. Beyond's script is a incoherent mess of just plain awful writing and sometimes downright creepy tropes (all the shower scenes…
Ah yes, thank you. I realised that soon after posting the comment (but not soon enough to edit it). It was less than two years ago. geez. There's been so much happening between then and now that it feels a lot longer.
Oh yeah this is that Finnish game. I seriously thought this game was long dead as I've heard nothing since the initial reveal all those years ago.
I'm so glad to see this project is still well alive as it did pique my interest back then. Glad to see Finland still produce other than mobile games.
Ps. There is a ambitious…
I heard that Curtis.
Oh no, I agree. Two word comments are down there with spam. No doubt. And it's good to have a system which encourages insightful commenting. However, with bigger news items with hundreds of new discussions in the grey, even the otherwise insightful comments will get ignored once the bigger topics land their places at…
Thanks. I've been wondering this myself for some time now. It's a bit discouraging tho, as I'm not really that prolific commenter myself. I try to comment only when I really have something meaningful to say or add to the discussion.
I remember all the way back before the whole Kinja thing, when Kotaku had the old…
I see totally get what you're saying. Whilst in Halo you could believe those weapons were real. Functional and realistic. I remember in one of the Bungie podcasts they discussed how the weapon design process was strict. "Make that rifle longer, the bolt does not have room to move inside the body." and "No! Remove the…
Sure. I'm not saying you couldn't continue telling "Chief's story". Of course you could tell that story, but for it you have to come up with something new. Halo 4 is the all too familiar case of "it could have been cool if..." I guess my ultimate point was that Halo 4 lifted too much from the old games and left too…
I thought I was alone with my sentiments on the Halo 4, and current state of the game series.
It probably would be amazing, compared to the awful game that was Halo 4.
Although, there would be lotsa interesting side stories in Halo universe outside the Spartans and saving the universe stuff. A lot of small human stories to be told. People helping to evacuate planets as they are being glassed. Marines dying in…
I wanted to post "Pics of GTFO"... But since I really don't want to see either, and I totally agree with the PC notion, so I won't.
Enjoy your meaty hairy buttocks.
I see what you did there... Kudos my friend.
