This is one situation where I'm actually glad my wife never learned to drive. She almost never comments on my driving, and she's not usually paying attention to the route we're taking so if I get lost or decide to take the scenic route she's usually none the wiser.

That's a good idea! It's sort of like dropping of your empty propane tank and picking up a filled one. Seems like the hardest thing would get all the manufactures to make some sort of standardized system for removable batteries... also if their 300lbs I guess you're not going to be loading them by hand.

Is that a manual transmission mounted on the steering column? Never seen anything like that before.

Not all 80's BMWs are equal. The demand for E30s in general, and the '91 318is specifically, is a lot higher than it is for E28s. So I don't really think it's a fair comparison.

Don't forget that it had a talking robot voice too! Very useful in case you couldn't figure out whether or not the doors were open on your own.

I have long dreamed of owning an Alfa GTV, I think it's one of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen. Never actually driven one though.

Just curious, what generation were the M5s? From the electronics it sounds like they're newer than the E39. (Which was the last generation which looked good anyway).
