I just don't see any implication that women don't understand football because they are women. If the NFL actually believed that, why would they throw money away trying to achieve the impossible? That doesn't make any sense.

I don't think the NFL believes women only care about things in the home. After all, homes don't contain regulation-sized football fields and the NFL wants women to care about that. This isn't about telling women to care about their homes, it's about teaching women to care about football.

It's a great game. The toll it takes on the men who play it, though, sometimes makes me ashamed I love it so much.

From a marketing/statistical standpoint, virtually all American men have been exposed to football. The NFL has people who spend a lot of time on this and the notion that they've just decided to not bother with this "huge swathe" of people seems rather far-fetched to me. The NFL already has a fairly aggressive outreach

Stop dating men. We're not worth it. You're better than us. All of us.

No, they don't assume "it's only women who don't understand football." They assume that men have been exposed to football for virtually their entire lives and if they still don't like it, they probably never will. Seems like a sound assumption to me.

If your husband still does not understand these rules after repeated attempts to explain them, you might have married a stupid person. Next time he asks, hand him a copy of this.

That's so wrong there isn't enough time in the day to explain how wrong it is.

Do you believe the average American woman knows as much about the 3-4 defense and the West Coast offense as you do? If so, this marketing campaign is unnecessary. On the other hand, the NFL has more money than God so they can afford to waste some of it.

It's probably called "Girls of Fall' because football players are sometimes called "Boys of Fall." You know, the way baseball players are often called "Boys of Summer."

Yes. Apparently it is. And degrading, too.

Then pay no attention to this marketing campaign. It might not be for you. Some marketing campaigns are aimed at you and some are not.

The concept is simple, the execution is anything but simple.

I'm with you on this. I don't like watching games in bars [actually, I loathe it], but it is occasionally part of travel. I've had a number of girls come up to me and ask me to explain the game to them — in the middle of the game. I don't know if these were come-ons and I don't care. The game is on. Shut up and watch

I don't drink beer, but I don't think the ads are as bad as you're making them out to be. They USED to be pretty awful, but the ads now are far less over-the-top.

Check out how many women and girls are at NFL games on a Sunday. I think the NFL knows how to talk to girls just fine.

Eh, don't worry about it. I get gay jokes because of my preference for cleanliness. I take it as a compliment. Usually, that's how it is meant.

You lot seem obsessed with men carrying purses lately. It's getting a little weird.

I'm not really sure what you're talking about and I've already lost interest, so...

I think anyone who likes to look at photos such as this obtained under circumstances such as this might justifiably think of themselves as pervs.
