I fall firmly into the "Love Windows 8.1" camp. With the exception of the charms bar, everything is just perfect for me.

I was a Sega kid all the way! I still have my dreamcast, and a load of great games for it. My prize game is Seaman. It's still fun to swear at those weird fish babies. "it's seaMAN, punk."
that bit with the gas tank was great!
Will iOS8 allow running of more than one app at a time? I like my iPad, but it's no fun for me when I want to look something up while a video is playing. 2 apps! Come on Apple...
I like the idea that anyone can star in the game. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would take great peacemakers from history and incorporate them into a fighting game. Gandhi vs. Jimmy Carter, etc.
I'm replaying Final Fantasy Tactics. It's just chock full of gameplay. Also, it scratches a particular itch; I just have to unlock more jobs.
I feel that this supremely ugly period is definitely a growing pain for the medium.
Reminds me of when they give chimpanzees a mirror to play with. They make all types of goofy faces.
Like, horse armor, but for people? People-armor? Neat concept!
This is certainly the best advice, in my opinion at least! I loved the sound of the Sega Genesis, so I bought a DX-7 FM synth. At first, programming was a nightmare. now though, I can make the sounds in my head a reality. It comes down to just keeping at it!
I've never heard that term, "theater of the mind," it's a good one! I think this is probably the best way to go about it, because as you say, you can at least have a visual aid to what's happening in the story.
That's very good to know. I want to teach my friends son to play, and since he has such a vivid imagination, I thought gridless would be perfect for him.
I was wondering, does this edition facilitate gridless play better than 4e? I like to play that style, but it's sometimes a bit of work to get things working.
Zing! Also, that's a little too presumptive calling them musicians. They did un-ironically use jazz scat after all. I also hope that the day never comes where jazz scat is a solution.
Ow, that was wretched. I don't think I've ever heard good jazz scat, come to think of it.
Hey! Disco Volante. I love that record. Great picture!
Isn't this Wild Thornberrys? Or am I missing a joke?
I prefer my games glute-n' free.
Hey! That new Civ game comes out on my Birthday! Right on.
Well written and thought provoking. Well done! I'm amazed by the comments, especially the negative and judgmental ones. How can one be a gamer, which to some degree inevitably makes you the object of scorn, turn around and judge someone else? Craziness.
