But it hasn't been done the Trier-way - with thoughtful, deep characters, great visuals and so on. A story much like Indiana Jones (Captain America to a certain degree) had been done before Raiders of the Lost Ark, yet it doesn't change the fact that Raiders is one of the best entertainment films of all time.
Has this been done before?
I meant like "doomsday and shit"-Michael Bay, not "robots that piss on people"-Michael Bay. :)
I love this movie already. It has the visual feel of ANTICHRIST, the doomsday-scenario from what could be a Michael Bay-film, and the well-defined, third-dimension characters from Dogville.
MOON is so much better that MONSTERS. Trust me. :)
And pineapple. PINEAPPLE, people! PINEAPPLE! :D
Man, io9 has really been covering this movie for all its worth. I've become more and more interested, but this review was the tipping point - I'm seeing this film.
LOL! :D
Indeed! :D
Science. It's cool, random, funny and brilliant. All at the same time.
Hah! You know, that would actually make sense. Let's just hope he doesn't show up anymore...
Agreed. So tired of that. Argh.
Yeah, the Donkey Wheel was actually one of the aspects of the show which definitively could've been explored more. Pretty interesting stuff there. :)
I think it makes more sense than "Anyone can kill Jacob except MiB". That seems a bit... stupid, seeing as MiB has spent more than 1000 years(?) trying to figure out a way to kill him [Jacob].
Yeah, you're right about the guy in the Hut - it has to be the Smoke Monster. Not much else makes sense.
They actually kept hinting toward a bigger solution to the loophole (or maybe I just wanted it to be more) but they never said on the show that anyone could kill Jacob. I don't think that was the loophole. My loophole-theory goes like this;
It's alright. I haven't even started watching it yet, but I was going to. This just means that I'll wait a bit more, to see if I'll forget the spoiler. If not, I'll just go on and watch it anyway. :)
The first season was just characters on an island, with hints and bits of info which may or may not be real. The second and fourth season was sci-fi, and great sci-fi at that. I do see your point though; season 3 did introduce Jacob, and season 5 had the time-travel thing (which was a rare blend of sci-fi and fantasy)…
No. Don't. Please...
