I loved MONSTERS' world-building, story and cinematography/direction. Sadly, I didn't care for any of the characters, nor their relationships, which basically made the whole thing dull.

They've done religion, and now they're onto old monster-myth. But the next big story arc - Cthulhu. Because it'll be way too awesome.

Robert Rodriguez is one of the best filmmakers in the popcorn-flick-game right now. I mean, from SIN CITY to SPY KIDS, MACHETE to PLANET TERROR - every film he puts out is worse (in the good way) than the last one, and even more batshit insane. The more he makes, the more I'll watch.

Holy crap this is exciting.

I'll be sure to try that out when I re-read (or listen to) the first one. It'll probably be sometime soon, when I've bought THE FALL, along with the last book in the trilogy.

Sadly, that universe imploded from awesomeness quite a few centuries ago. :P
