@stalking_goat: I don't think this is the case. Mind you, I've never seen all of Carnivale, but everything is supposed to be great, something that has much to do with the fact that the Writer's had all six planned seasons mapped out and practically written.

@Doncosmic: Yes, I know that both Fringe and Carnivale are far better than just ok, but they both started out (or turned out to) be only okay ratings-wise, leading to (in Fringe's case) a surprise renewal, or (in Carnivale's case) an abrupt and sad cancellation.

One of these shows will be great, but betrayed by the studio, then cancelled after a brilliant and promising first season. (Come on - do I even need to state the obvious example? *sighs* fine. FIREFLY.)

I have faith in Ron Moore and NBC. The fact that the latter renewed COMMUNITY for a second season (and are likely to renew it again) makes it the opposite of FOX right now. (Case in point - CHUCK)

Each recap of V makes me squee with joy. This show is insane (and not in an awesome True Blood-way).
