I think the difference arises from the way we can pronounce the "real" in the beginning. Saying it as "ree-uhl-ter" isn't too difficult for us to say and so no one adds in the extra 'i' sound with that pronunciation. Hardly anyone would say "ree-uhl-i-ter". Though I'm pretty sure (hoping?) that this is tongue-in-cheek, people obsessing over mispronunciations is one of my bigger pet peeves. Regional differences, dialects, language changing all of the time, etc etc.

I honestly think the past few seasons, at least from what I've seen, aren't all too bad. Seasons 4-8 (roughly, changes depending on who you talk to) had almost impossibly-perfect runs of impossibly-perfect episodes. They had such a phenomenal crew working on them at the time.
