Philosophically, cloud services actually promote the use of a lot of computers by decentralizing data and software.

Primarily for lunch. I'm a bit of a foodie, and I like to try something new almost every day. If i had to walk to lunch, I'd be eating the same 3 things forever.

I did, actually it was a project bike. A re-done 1978 motobecane that was restored top to bottom into a single speed (NOT a fixie!). Another L.A. trademark, it was stolen 2 months after I built it (about 800 bucks invested). It was chained inside my building's gated garage. Thieves broke in and cut the chain. :(

I love L.A traffic, i live 1.8 miles from work, and at least once a week it takes me an hour to get home. If I could predict what days it happened, i'd be better off walking.

Open source doesn't mean they have to release everything the second they create it. They're the originators of Android and Honeycomb, so they're entitled to make sure that it's in a stable state for release to the general public. "Stable" is obviously subjective since they're defining their own terms.

This isn't real 1000fps correct? Just twixtor'ed / artificially morphed into 1000fps-like?

I don't like how the article makes a somewhat loose comparison between Kickstarter and Quirky. Other then the fact that both are crowd sourced, they are nothing alike. Quirky is a scam wrapped in a warm snuggly blanket facade of social networking, cooperation, and faked good intent (by Quirky).

I'm willing to bet that anyone that is okay without having push notifications are going to be largely iPhone owners. I highly doubt that any significant percentage of Android users will say "Yeah, I don't need push notifications". I really don't mean to be trolling, but with total unbias, I can say that Apple has a

This is one of those things where timing is kind of important. Reminding people that "time heals" when they're still digging up thousands of bodies from the wreckage and a potential nuclear melt down looming in the near future isn't exactly appropriate.

I thought it has 512mb

Pretty good assessment, albeit kind of editorial'ish (a bit gushy at times ;P). I'm in the crowd of long-time-ipad-owner-not-worth-upgrading crowd. I find it amusing that everytime I'm critical of Apple stuff (I've always bitched about the weight of the iPad, among other things), I'm told to shut up... that is, until

How can you determine the quality of any camera when:

Am I missing something? I have an iPad (1) on 4.3, and I have all these 4 and 5 finger gestures out of the box. I don't even think I touched any settings. I just read about it when 4.3 came out, tried it, and it worked.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I just don't use these streaming apps. I mean, maybe for a few minutes here and there while I'm dropping brown babies off at the pool, but there's never a time in my day where I have the odd combination of free time and not-at-home. Either I'm at work, or I'm at home, in which case I

The majority of what my kid does is in-app related. Games, educational apps, etc. He does however, use apps like Netflix, which is essentially just their website packaged as an iOS app. Exact same UI, exact same functionality, and the exact same requirement to communicate via internet.

Technically internet isn't just punching in a URL in a browser. Nowadays, with the cloud being as mainstream as it is, there's a high probability that anything you do on a modern computer or connected device, has to access the internet to perform a large part of it's primary function.

I have to admit my toddler is part of that group. He's technically not even 2 yet (23 months). My wife and I had a debate about this exact topic. Ultimately we concluded that giving him access, but in controlled portions was fine. We don't let him over indulge, but we also let him use it enough that technology is

I would actually agree with that, but the point is they posted it, so now it's fair game, no?
