they’re surprisingly good off road, people don’t realise they’re body on frame, manual transmission available, factory low range, rear limited slip option and here in the UK even came with a diesel.

all the controls for things like the lights, indicators, wipers, etc are on the wheel as it has no control stalks. Assuming there aren’t any aftermarket wheels that have all the necessary buttons to maintain those features.

I had something similar to this happen on one of my old cars, For the rest of the drive I got very good at engine off - into first - start in gear when the lights change and hammer the accelerator to pull away routine. In hindsight probably should have got it towed haha

incidentially a few years back BMW discovered a flaw in the plastic housing for the fuel pump nipple on their motorbikes, where it would fatigue from vibration until it split and leaked fuel. Their solution was something quite similar to this, a metal reinforcement that added strength and solved the problem.

Same sorta deal as the E46 Compact. surpriiiise
