Also, not all Biblical counselors discuss JUST reading the Bible and praying. I was fortunate enough to see a licensed counselor who also held his M.Div. We did occasionally talk about reading and praying, but the majority of the time was focused on my issues (anger, depression) as well as marital and family issues.
Kudos to Jeremy for actually coming out and saying that he's done. He has created for himself a well informed choice. But it's just that - a choice. He is choosing to hang up the controller and focus on what is more important to him - his son. To be honest, I thought the same thing that Jeremy did when I found out…
