Everyone seems to love the film — even King, reportedly (though that may have just been smart marketing) — and I dug it, right up until the end. They did a good job, right up until the end.

And you all laughed at M. night shyamalon for The Happening. Well guess who’s laughing NOW?

I HATE THIS MOVIE! I HATE THIS MOVIE! I HATE THIS MOVIE! I HATE THIS MOVIE! I HATE THIS MOVIE! I HATE THIS MOVIE! I HATE THIS MOVIE! I HATE THIS MOVIE! I HATE THIS MOVIE! I HATE THIS MOVIE! I HATE THIS MOVIE! I HATE THIS MOVIE! I HATE THIS MOVIE! I HATE THIS MOVIE! I HATE THIS MOVIE! I HATE THIS MOVIE! I HATE THIS

He’s in his 20s. Plus at that moment he is cold turkey from heroin, witnessing the start of the zombie apocalypse, convinced he’s insane and wearing a dead old man’s clothes. Not “sulking”.

No, it doesn’t suck. I would have been perfectly content to not see a walker for the first 2 or 3 episodes. The focus here is supposed to be the breakdown of society. In TWD we are thrown into things in media res, and that was the right choice for show they had no idea was going to make it.

I have Perdido Street Station as well, I forget why I decided to go with The City and the City first other than I think I’ve had it recommended to me a few more times than I’ve had Perdido recommended. However I’m fairly fickle when it comes to what books I end up reading, I can plan six books ahead then throw the

That would be cool, ty.

If you want to try Mieville and love horror/fantasy, you should really try the Bas-Lag trilogy. Perdido Street Station, The Scar, and Iron Council all traffic heavily and well in terrifying imagery.

I haven’t really read any Mieville myself. More accurately, I haven’t _finished_ any Mieville; I got 100 pages into Perdido Street Station and got tired of waiting for something to happen. But a lot of people swear by him, and one day I’m going to finish that book.

I wrote a review that might help if you are interested?

I would like to submit M. Carey’s “The Girl With All The Gifts” as #10.

I have been reading The Shining Girls since the start of the year, I love the concept but I find it to be a really jarring read and I’m normally fine with stories that are told in non-chronological sequence. I’ll finish it eventually, I read little bits in between the other books I’m reading.

I beg to differ...this Joaquin Phoenix/Shyamalan movie is awesome:

Can someone tell me if Wayward Pines is from the M Night Shyamalan who made those two pretty good Bruce Willis movies or the M Night Shyamalan who made those two terrible Joaquin Pheonix movies? I’d like to know before I waste my time watching it.
