A fair few people have been saying Perlman is too old for a (hopefully) reoccurring role in a massive movie franchise but honestly I’d love to see him play Cable. Also it’s my (admittedly limited) understanding that Cable is a character that they could re-cast fairly easily story-wise anyway if they had to.

A cliff hanger would be unforgivable but I’d be ok with a really bleak kill them all ending (or even a fade to black ending) so long as it’s done in service to the story and not just because.
