I’m 6'5" with disproportionately long legs. This is my life. I’ve been on a plane where I actually couldn’t sit down. My knees got wedged into the seat back while my ass was still hovering a few inches above the seat bottom.

“We let our customers down and for that we are sorry.”

As far as I recall, Christian Von Koenigsegg invented and holds the parent for the flex fuel sensor. That’s probably what is funding, or at least helped start Koenisegg.

I always find it amusing when all the arm chair engineers come out of the woodwork to argue with you in the comments. I wonder how many actually realize you have a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering and that your previous jobs were in the engineering department at FCA....

Nope. The root issue was leaking rear main seals which would contanimate the dry clutches with oil and cause them to judder and slip. They have done multiple revisions on the clutch packs, and the seals, and reprogrammed them endless times, but in the end, I don’t think they ever resolved it.

You’ve got your acronyms mixed up. It was a DCT, not a CVT. (DCT = dual clutch transmission, CVT = continuously variable transmission)

Nope. Both straight and helical gear tooth profiles follow an involute so that the contact point on the gear teeth rolls rather than slides. This is because sliding would destroy the teeth in no time.

Nope. Helical has multiple teeth engaged and therefore more surface area.

Dog gear engagement and straight cut gears are not mutually inclusive. You can get helical dog gears and straight cut syncro gears (even if they are not very common).

Some of us need that extra knee room. I don’t fit in some planes because of a lack of knee room.

I second the want for a normam A4 - not a stupid looking plasticy / lifted allroad

Why not take a cab / Uber to the airport? (Honest question)

Apparently cabin pressure has a large effect on tiredness / jet lag. And newer airframes generally have higher cabin pressures as the airframe is stronger / better built to withstand them.

I sadly don’t have mine anymore. Haven’t had it since 2012 when I was rear ended by (what i now know to be was a hungry) Ford mustang. Miss that car but I figure it’s best kept as a good memory at this point (rather than trying to buy another).

Never. Get a friend to teach them.

Good. The current RAV4 has a hugely disappointing interior.

Mis-understood your comment. I thought you were being sarcastic by saying “because he made the mistake twice doesn’t mean it was his fault”. When I believe you meant to say “because he didn’t make the mistake both times, it wasn’t fully his fault”.

Then you don’t know how to drive in the snow (or have never tried good snow tires).

Wow. Good ol kinja won’t let me edit my response to be effectively nothing.....
