My girlfriend likes the XC40 since it will be all electric, but I still like the added plug-in range. Plus the XC60 interior is a lot nicer. Volov said we could get the XC40 through the new Care by Volvo program then trade up to the XC60 after a year if it doesn’t work out for us.

Our Focus Electric lease is up in August. We’re hoping to get a Volvo EV, but the XC40 EV doesn’t have a release date yet. If the V90 Plug-In was sold in the U.S., we’d be all over it.
But I wonder what the penalty would be if we want to instead buy one outright after that first year. Surely they’d want to make a sale, especially if it’s a more expensive model.
