I saw an Audi Allroad towing a broken-down pickup last weekend. I was thoroughly impressed.
Everyone needs to drive a vehicle, even the very tall. This was the largest auto I could afford. Should I therefore be made the subject of fun, huh?
I've always had a secret fondness for the Lincoln LS. The design is very generic, but I somehow still like it. The look reminds me of a late '90s - early '00s TOCA touring car. And since one of these with a manual can be had for $3000, it might be fun to strip out and take racing.
Most new cars won't allow fully defeatable traction control. It happens to me in my Mustang and Buttonwillow Raceway. Even with TC off, as soon as the car lifts up, the computer turns it back on. I had to replace my ABS/TC module with a race spec unit to get rid of the problem. So this is a pretty cool feature to me.
My girlfriend's thesis script senior year was a Silver Arrows movie. With a little tweaking, I think it would be a great film. Now just to have the connections in Hollywood!

She definitely is. :) ... And so is the car of course.
I started a Facebook group for time attack. I'd like to start writing, but I'm trying to collect enough material first.
I've already blown my budget on that engine. It's been a challenge to come up with the parts and design to result in a reliable street car with increased power. '80s Spiders aren't worth anything, so it's been a labor of love. I think blueprinting is beyond the scope of what I want at this point. I'm transitioning…
Port and polish, higher compression Motronic pistons, new cams, oversized valves, better injectors, ignition, baffles, windage tray, crank, headers.... Pretty much anything I can do while keeping the original engine block in the car.
That's before it went under the knife. The engine is out right now. Trying to get a 25% bump in power. Proving to be quite difficult in that car.
I'd have been happy with that.
She often contemplates selling it for a more modern, reliable car. To be fair, it isn't easy sitting in rush hour traffic with that race clutch, and the car shaking because of the aggressive cam. But most modern cars just don't have a soul. So far I've been able to talk out of it. I tell her, "I drive and Alfa Romeo.…
Now that's a truck I'd drive.
I should clarify. The transmission was from an E21 3 series, not sure what year though. Those still used the M10 4 cylinder, same as the 2002, only updated. The swap is is pretty straight forward since they're mounting to basically the same engine.
I tell her how lucky I am all the time. :)
