For real. This is some shitty fatphobic stereotyping

There was little, if any, change that resulted from the Clarence Thomas hearings.
It’s not uncomfortable to confront because your argument isn’t at all sound. Some overweight people lack self-control—with food. But that doesn’t mean they treat a human body the same way they do a bag of Doritos. It’s a false equivalency, and it doesn’t do anything but muddy the waters of the entire discussion around…
This is just plain off the mark and your doubling down on it isn’t helping one bit. Overeating = a predisposition towards sexual assault? I’d like to see you defend that with anything other than your (completely unsubstantiated) correlative association above. I really, really thought we were past the “fat people lack…
I feel weird about all the fat-shaming comments I’ve been seeing on Jezebel since the Weinstein scandal broke. It literally has nothing to do with them being fat, and being fat has only a very tenuous relationship with self-control. It also seems quite a dangerous link to draw in cases like this, where an abuser’s…
You and I have very different memories of the effect the Clarence Thomas/Anita Hill hearings had. I was 40 at the time and it seemed to me that things really didn’t change that much at all. And I remember how Anita Hill was just almost universally crucified by men for her testimony, and by some women as well.
Or maybe if, in the year of whatever lord 2017, you haven’t already realized that EVERY FUCKING PLACE is full of racists, then your personal story of what it took for you to actually take a second to SEE around you no longer matters. How far back do you really want to go with this? Which police killing do you think…
I’ve been in these comment threads long enough to know that if she didn’t use that descriptor for her first child and then did call her black babies beautiful, someone would accuse her of fetishising or exoticising their colour.
Huh, we must be reading different pieces. I heard a late-in-life believer who knows nothing about the politics of religion (and never cared to find out) discover, for the first time apparently, that Evangelicalism is chock full of racists. And at least now their children will be exposed to social justice and magic…
she should be allowed to express that and her disappointment in her community for its demonstration of racism
I got bad news for you... it’s not your church that’s racist, it’s your country.
No, the purpose of a church is to make money for the church and bilk people into believing that giving that money will get them into heaven.
Upstate NY is the most racist place I have ever lived. I have lived in Arizona.
The purpose of a church is not to judge but to act as support when things go wrong.
Duh, it’s God’s plan.
It is wonderful you found the good magicians and got away from the bad magicians
I’m half black and I completely get it.
Whatever small step you gotta take towards that wokeness I guess
Church goers are racist hypocrites. What a shock!
