Exactly this. I sold cars for a while. People come in and just want a new car. Their other car might be 2 years old and they owe more than its worth - don’t care. Just get me into the new car.

Didn’t think of that. I was just thinking if I am buying some over priced profit center from the F&I guy, I’d rather it be a factory warranty that might actually be useful some day. The paint, fabric, wheel/tire, key warranty most certainly will be worth jack shit.
I’ve noticed more and more dealer sites making it a point to say that “MSRP” is not the price of the car, and the dealer decides that.
Well I didn’t ask for a salesman, you just tried to force it on me. I’ll gladly take delivery of the car myself without any “assistance”.
If I actually had to buy a car tomorrow from one of these slimey fucks, I’d at least ask to buy an over priced factory warranty instead of the bullshit they put on these cars - paint protection, wheel and tire warranty, key replacement, $1000 in shitty looking door edge gaurds and OEM floor mats I’ll never use.
Eh, then you are just rewarding these dirtbags trying to profit off the fact someone famous was murdered in the back seat. Rather they keep having to pay for storage/upkeep.
I mean, based on every other gas station I’ve ever been to, it doesn’t seem like those employees are particularly happy either. At least the Buc-ees pays better.
A final “fuck you” from human kind to the planet - be buried in a perfectly good car because you want to be special.
Are Broncos sitting on dealer lots begging for a customer to come and take them away? Last time I scoured the local Ford dealer’s website, they had 1 and it was still marked up over sticker.
For those who really want to die in a car crash.
Guess the note on the Pacifica Hybrid didn’t make it to dealers who still show a markup on them.
Maybe if you have a good mechanic down the street who actually knows how to deal with this motor.
Just because someone slapped some badges on a mass produced car, doesn’t make it valuable. If you really want one of these T-Birds, they are under $20k all day for low mileage Grandpa only drove it on sunny days models.
I think I might lean Buick here. I’d have to read up on reliability a bit. In general you’d expect a Buick to be cheaper to maintain, but since this is really an Opel, who knows. Plus its the cheapest by quite a bit. Use that cash on some snow tires and wheels.
Plenty of Renegades available to hold them over.
Sure, and the cars themselves are mostly “collectibles” for rich guys. Maybe a few of them get taken to a cars and coffee type thing to show off. Others just sit in a very nice garage until they get sent to auction.
Yup. I’d have purchased a Toyota or Lexus by now if there were any for sale without thousands in add-on shit or straight up markups.
I was ready to say “just buy a convertible” and then I looked at the prices of E30 convertibles. People are paying those prices? Only one approaching this price was an automatic that had two giant subwoofers in the trunk...so going to pass on that one.
The 4Runner is still around $50k. The old LC was approaching $100k. A $70-80k SUV apparently doesn’t make people blink these days, so they could target that price point and 1) expand the LC’s market and 2) not encroach on the 4Runner.
Based on the used prices for a FJ Cruiser, no one seems to care.
