Civic was my first thought too. They were *the* common man’s car of the growing 90's import tuner scene.  The guy in your high school parking lot trying to trick out their Cavalier, Neon, or Beretta wished they had a Civic.

My buddy had one.  Crammed a couple 10's in the back somehow.  Replaced his Z24 Cavalier.

Reduces the amount of impermeable surface.  California wants every drop of groundwater they can get.

That was my impression as well, and recall a Panamera backseat not looking like such a bad place to be.

Am I the only one who is shocked to see how small the backseat legroom appears?  I know these aren’t Rolls Royces, but it looks like a 911 might have the same amount of room.

Same, I always wanted to get one and go on a road trip. Just soak up miles in a comfy seat with a supercharged 3800 for passing power.

Kiss might have them all beat.

But what about people like this dealer here, who thinks their 2021 is worth $150k? Who will look out for the little guy?

The OEMs are coming full circle back to the 80's/90's when a “painted bumper” and “body colored mirrors” were an option available for extra $$.

I had a neighbor who had a ‘96 or so GTS. It was apparently ridiculously easy to get loose in just about any situation. But don’t drive like an idiot, and you are probably alright.

Doesn’t seem like a bad deal if you want one with the “original” look.

Yeah I got to say I am real tempted to get a Bolt with the tax credit back in place.  $20k is about where I’d be willing to be for a car with limited functionality.

Except Toyota has probably built more “big battery” cars than anyone else, and is one of the brands closest to making solid state batteries a thing. EVs are all about batteries. Just because they aren’t pumping out $70k BEVs doesn’t mean they are “behind”.

My favorite part here is that you can put those jump seats up and there is still a decent amount of cargo space behind the second row.

So they are going to make a car that is cheaper than the Model 3, but bake in “full self driving” which is currently a $15k option for the Model 3? So how bad of a ripoff is FSD today? Ignoring the challenges it has with actually self driving.

I see many spotless Wrangler Rubicons around here. Lots of people are happy to spend money on capability they’ll never use. Offroad, towing, arguably most sports cars offer performance that will never be explored.

You actually have to burn coal.  Purchase the optional coal stove and throw a shovel load in.

A normal Civic may be ready for another 100k miles.  A Si has a higher likelihood of being beaten on.

$5k would be cheap from what I saw.  I remember looking when I was flying to Europe thinking maybe it would be a “little bit more” to move up to 1st or Business.  Nope.  Like $10k vs. $1k.

I came out of that era pretty well.  The most stupid stuff I experienced in a car was in someone else’s car.  So had the laughs, and my car was safely parked somewhere and my license not at risk.
