I live in a major metro area, there are multiple dealers here for every make of car except maybe Ferrari.

I mean if these people completely disregard jersey barriers and ROAD CLOSED signs, we’re probably paying for other stupid stuff they do either way.

Is there anything particularly special about this car besides its rarity in the U.S.? Is it that much more fun to drive than a Honda Accord? IMO, it is not particularly good looking.

Someone’s son?  “Alright Dad, I’ll go sit in line with you outside this car dealership in New Hampshire”.

I’ve seen pictures of the overnight lines formed outside liquor stores for a bottle of bourbon - very few Boomers in that line.

I think they’ll get there at some point, although the disappearing “base model” in general might prove me wrong.

In reality, people who buy cars the “old fashioned way” (before the pandemic anyway) are all getting a variety of pricing. Discounts, free floor mats, oil changes, etc. Even now, I’m sure someone paid $5k over sticker for a RAV4 Prime, while someone else got it for MSRP.  But unless you ask someone in an owner’s forum

As someone living near a road, I don’t think those loud exhausts are going to be replaced by EVs any time soon. A good 70% of them are pickup trucks and Jeep Wranglers. You know it because you can hear the roar of knobby tires along with the loud exhaust. Those guys aren’t trading in for a EV until someone takes their

Isn’t this the truth. And it seems like Toyota might be the only OEM really interested in PHEVs moving forward.

They’re also $70k+.  I love the package, but I don’t want to spend that much on my car.

I periodically forget how expensive these are.  And the Mach E’s that dealers near me seem to have listed for sale are all GTs that are $70k+

Did the same. A couple shops couldn’t seem to really tell me what happened. I got “needs a recharge”, which we know is nonsense because it doesn’t address the real problem, and a guy who thought it was a compressor problem. Not a lot of confidence for an expensive repair.

So Volvo is going to be forced to let dealers price its subscription option?

I’m watching the battery technology. I’ve read about Toyota and Porsche being close to deploying solid state batteries. Here is a story from yesterday on BMW’s efforts being “close” as well.

I know used car prices are crazy, but I feel like I can buy a well worn police Tahoe at auction for less than $15k.  Maybe the a/c will work on that one.

Getting Bentley shoppers to cross shop with Genesis seems a bit premature. Good for them I guess aiming high, but it is quite a leap.

The insistence of dealers stocking black leather interiors when there are awesome brown interiors available is a mystery to me as well.

Yeah, I’ve definitely pondered the price of a Carmax warranty for a XF Sportbrake.

Usually higher end brands are friendlier to special order.  Unless you are Lexus apparently.  If you want Nori Green Metallic, you apparently need to search the country for it.

I’m willing to wait 3 months. I’m even willing to not get the greatest deal in the world in exchange for choosing my paint and interior colors and not getting options I don’t want. I just don’t trust dealers to not ruin the potential deal.
