In my experience, they were usually more expensive than other places, even before COVID screwed up the car market.

Decent pickup truck for under $10k...come on market downturn.

I mean everyone has said “how are people affording these”, and maybe the market has finally tapped out of people who either can afford it or want to believe they can afford it.

Really?  You don’t need to go through the dealer?  How does Volvo get away with that with the NADA cartel?

That was a Toyota dealer for me. Emailed looking for an offer when I was shopping for a car. Instead all they did was try to get me to come in. It was apparently 1992 at that dealer. They suck for service too. Unfortunately it is the Toyota dealer down the street from me.

Subaru dealer I bought from does that.

And that nitrogen isn’t free if they can make you think it shouldn’t be.

50/50 chance the Ram 2500 buyer came in drunk.

Seems like no luxury brands are on there.

How do you have a relationship with the service writer? If I follow the maintenance schedule in detail and do it at the dealer, I’m in there like twice a year.

In my area, Nissan is taking this over in advertising, with Mitsubishi still there too.

This is possibly part of it. I sold Hyundais during my short stint selling cars. This was when Hyundai was starting to have some well reviewed cars, but they were still best known for being inexpensive and having a long warranty.

Well fortunately for Kia dealers, unlike Sears, there are protectionist franchise laws that ensure their products cannot be sold anywhere else.

Probably lack of inventory and the associated games some dealers are playing.

There is a Buick/GMC dealer near me. Used to have Pontiac too back in the day. They have 13 Buicks on the lot.

I mean, most high schoolers weren’t getting a RX-7.

Maybe if you were a 17 year old in 1988 this would suffice as “cool”.

PHEV everything Toyota and you’ll be first in line for my car money.

Says he gave it to his “foundation”, so I assumed he knew it would be sold off at some point and likely signed it for that reason.

Maybe I missed it in the article, but how was the build quality and interior material quality? I get that the driving experience stunk, and that whole “under 80% it is in limp mode” deal is very odd and bound to be very poorly received, but were there any bright spots?
