It's not really 3D. Te characters have not been optimized for 3D and seem to physically shift to fit into the standard 2D archetypes we all know. This isn't a criticism per se. But it does as k the question: if the intent was to faithfully retain the feel of the 2D environment (which they have done), why make the film

Ah. Frank and Earnest. Went from totally not understanding them as a young boy to loving them (albeit painfully) as an adult. I miss them.

Garth, no unfamiliar. If only I could fix that...

I too have bitched my way to lower dish rates. They are of the devil, I swear.

Jeff and Ackbar? ??? ? ?????

I'm not sure a slight drop off means an absence. I just saw Maleficent. The Herculi have just left theaters. The Hobbit capper is due out. Exodus: Gods and Kings certainly fits the motif if not the genre. Seventh Son is coming early next year for better or for worse. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon gets another go

I forgot that the Futurama/Simpsons crossover was last night! Must see!

I enjoyed it all the way through. I liked having season spanning story arcs. I thought the Klingon "explanation" was as good as you were going to get. I loved the Orions. It was fun seeing the Andorians really beefed up plot wise. I recently rewatched the three final episodes. My only complaint was the perfunctory

RE Enterprise: I did not know that! That's awesome. Yes, I'm in the US and I did notice that The Simpsons had been stretched to 16:9. WHY??? I thought it was just my local cable company. Glad it's not just me. I respect the fact that ST TNG went HD while retaining the 4:3 aspect ration. By the way, I say two episodes

If you get a chance, grab the DVD (not BluRay) UFO collection.

"Mind you I once watched Knight Rider dubbed into Korean." You have been blessed in a way few can understand :)

All true. As to TOS - it was something like 1.4 million an episode in adjusted dollars. Big budget for the day. But as always, you would save money where you could and 1960s TVs were very blurry. If it wouldn't 'go home' then don't spend the money...

Yes it is aggressive. Which is a good thing. It was calling out a dishonest portrayal of my argument and my issue with the Bricken recaps. I'm not going to debate from a position I never made. Nor will I couch your disagreement as anything other than what it actually is. Angry? No. Nothing in print makes me angry. I

I imagine many old shows originally shot on film will benefit greatly from a fresh digital transfer. We will be seeing these shows in a way that previously only those watching screenings and dailies could enjoy. It's amazing what was captured on film with the understanding that no one watching TV sets in the 1970's

When did I ask for drool? Show me.

It is just as likely that intelligent, space faring life is just rare enough that its presence is spread wider than the speed of life has traveled since the big bang. In other words, our nearest neighbors are in a galaxy farther away than light has yet to travel since the big bang.

I hope someone who doesn't hate doing it. IO9 has lately been handing recaps off to people who openly admit to not enjoying the job. Not the point. Give it an honest recap AND an honest review. Not a muddy grist column more about the author than the show (Strain).

A: No.

You are welcome! The DVD with feature film and documentary is available for pennies on Amazon.

And the elevator shaft. He sold the entire scene, imaginary dropped nuts and all with pure physical comedy. I'm sure you know: that's a hallway and the "elevator" is a forklift. O'bannon is lying on a board on his stomach. Even when he walks across the board, he's sliding on his back across the floor.

Pinback, time to feed the alien...

Amazing film. The documentary is great too. This was WalE before Pixar.
