Rygar is probably one of my favorite NES games, but man it could be janky at times.

Given the fact that Nintendo of America is in an area that is still under lockdown they probably don’t have the resources available to put together a full Direct right now.  Note that the Nintendo Direct Mini that came out at the end of March and the Mario Maker 2 update both got announced in a similar fashion with no

Keep in mind that they’re selling the engine here (in this case a new major revision of Unreal Engine), not the console hardware. It’s impressive to see some of the effects they can pull off, but it’s a lot easier to make and optimize a vertical slice like this than it is to do it for a full game. You tend to end up

Hollow Knight is a $15 game that’s better than a lot of $60 ones I’ve played.  Never managed to finish it (I’m generally not great at games like that) but thoroughly enjoyed what I did play of it.

Probably way too much Animal Crossing, still working on some projects on my brother’s Minecraft realm, and if I have some time I might try messing with my makeshift VR racing rig (Oculus Quest with a Quest Link cable and a cheap Thrustmaster wheel) some more.

Unfortunately I think the only thing that keeps them from losing 11 of those games is if Gretchen Whitmer bans them from playing.

Another impact is that their repair service is shut down indefinitely. I’ve got a Switch I sent in for repair (all games were failing to start with generic “The software was closed due to an error” messages) in early March that has been, as far as I know, sitting in a warehouse in Redmond since I sent it in, with no

Not sure if I still have it, but I think somewhere buried in my stuff is an original copy of Civilization still in the shrinkwrap (but probably not collector-quality.) I remember they were the ones who originally published the Team17 Worms games. Worms 2 remains to this day one of the best hotseat multiplayer games

I guess I lucked out and got Marshal as the first visitor to the campsite.  Of course, I had no idea he was one of the “cool” villagers until I did some looking around on the Internet.

Oddly enough, I’m reading this just after finishing up The Fellowship of the Ring (since we currently have time on our hands, we’re going through the LOTR extended editions right now.)

In my experience so far (I got a bit of a late start on the game) if you’re not trying to speedrun or minmax the game there’s more than enough bells to go around for whatever you want to do. I haven’t even done any turnip trading yet and I’ve easily got enough money to get through several house upgrades,  I know some

These days Kaizo romhacks tend to use infinite lives and instant restarts (similar to an I Wanna Be The Guy / Celeste type game) which SMM2 doesn’t really allow for.  If nothing else I suippose creators could put 1-ups on the checkpoints for the kaizo levels...

Looks like a pretty nice update, too bad it looks like there won’t be much more.  That said, it seems like most creators in SMM2 are making either troll levels or kaizo levels now, and it doesn’t seem like a lot of the additions really benefit either style much.

Finally got another Switch so I can play Animal crossing (got a couple of siblings playing this already) and it sounds like my brother wants to do an Ender Dragon run in his Minecraft realm.  Did a bit of tinkering with the RTX beta, it certainly looks nice but the FPS is pretty low (around 40 on a Core i5 9600k with

Haven’t played enough of this one to run into any particularly annoying villagers (Peck’s a bit annoying but nothing I can’t deal with) but back in the last AC game I played extensively (Wild World) Truffles was the one I couldn’t stand.  Not only was she a constant nuisance, but she drove the only villager I really

I managed to order a Switch Lite from,Best Buy last Monday (I have a regular Switch but it’s currently sitting in repair limbo at a Nintendo warehouse until their repair center reopens.) At the time it showed an arrival ETA of about April 24th, but ended up shipping the next day and arriving here on Monday. As of

Given all the information they provide about moving Java edition worlds to Bedrock, I’m guessing the option is still in place. I know I bought Java (all the way back in Alpha in fact) and was able to get Windows 10 Edition for free from that.

On one hand, I have an RTX card.  On the other hand, most of my projects are located on my brother’s realm, and for the time being realms aren’t supported for this.  I’ll have to see if I can pull the files...

I work with a developer-facing app submission flow as part of my job, and when a developer submits a new version of an existing app they are required to either assert that the content rating is unchanged when they submit a new version, or they have to add a new IARC certificate (International Age Rating Coalition,

Been playing quite a bit of Minecraft lately. My brother has a realm that me and my other brother have been playing on. He’s big on automating everything he can, I tend to focus more on building interesting structures. Got a project in the works, but since it’s a survival mode server there’s a lot of resource
