I’d have to go, unfortunately, with the Dreamcast for mine. Not that it didn’t have some great games (Soulcalibur, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Power Stone, Ikaruga and Bangai-O come to mind right offhand), but the controllers were an ergonomic nightmare, to the point that I could only play for about fifteen minutes at a time

I had the opposite experience with Borderlands 3. For the better part of a year we were hearing about it, complete with plenty of details being slowly dripped out, watching the reveals at various shows, playing the Borderlands 2 DLC prequel and replaying a lot of Borderlands 2 in anticipation, and then when it finally

I actually kind of like the current “drop things out of nowhere” approach. I’ve always been curious what would happen if some studio decided to release a big AAA title completely unannounced (imagine what would happen if Valve just quietly released Half Life 3 on Steam with no prior announcement, for example.)

Sticking to 2D platformers only:

I remember all sorts of hotseat battles in Worms 2, but never quite got into Armageddon for some reason, mostly because it nerfed the “elevator rope” physics in Worms 2.  That said, I’m pretty sure the game would hold up pretty well now.

Hollow Knight is an amazing game, but I just hit a brick wall on the difficulty right around the second Hornet fight (or alternately the Mantis Lords fight), and never picked it up again after that. Probably the biggest issue I had with it is that a lot of the boss fights don’t have conveniently placed checkpoints,

Yes, but at some point it starts to cost more than I can make in a run, and progress slows to a halt.  Part of it is that I’m just not very good at the game, but it also feels a bit unbalanced.

Steam shows about 8 hours played for me on Rogue Legacy, but I ran into a lot of the same issues (hitting a brick wall where you just can’t make enough gold to advance anything.)  Not to say that Rogue Legacy is a bad game, but unfortunately I think its biggest problem is that Dead Cells does pretty much everything

A VGA adapter for Dreamcast. The difference in picture quality compared to playing on composite or S-video was ridiculous. That said, it didn’t work with some games, but the ones it did work with looked awesome.

The main problem with the Saturn (for Western audiences at least) is that the vast majority of its best games were Japan-only releases, most of which never got localized.

Lately it’s been lots and lots of Minecraft, especially since the Nether Update came out.  Not sure hjow useful Netherite actually is, but the new Nether is pretty cool.

In earlier Animal Crossing games (where you had to manually save regularly, as opposed to the autosaving in New Horizons) Mr. Resetti would appear if you closed the game without saving, and would lecture you (often rather rudely) about not saving your game.  In New Horizons, it is implied (but not directly confirmed)

Just be glad they don’t have Mr. Resetti in this game.

To be fair they never sold any tickets, and for PAX West at least those frequently sell out quickly, so it’s not a great idea to be booking flights or hotels without having tickets secured anyway.

Emerald City ComicCon (originally scheduled for early March, planned to be rescheduled in August) also got cancelled yesterday.  I suspect it’ll be a while before large scale events resume at this rate.

I guess I’m lucky because the game basically just gave me Marshal and Judy (Marshal was the first one to show up at the campsite, Judy just moved into one of the vacant house sites one day.)

Unfortunately, that may be the only way to keep the install size down to reasonable levels.  As is the Destiny 2 install on PC is over 100 GB, If someone has only a 500GB SSD in their system adding too much more content is going to risk running out of space.

As much as I’ve enjoyed the time I spent playing Destiny 2, I just uninstalled it from my system.  I’ve moved on to other things, and don’t see anything likely to bring me back here.  That, plus the sheer amount of storage space the game takes up, doesn’t seem worth it.

Forget it, I’m not going to Harv’s Island, regardless of what rewards might be there.  Harv is creepy beyond belief.

Rygar is probably one of my favorite NES games, but man it could be janky at times.
