Things like this are the reason that some people say that Kickstarter should only allow projects to be funded up to the initial goal, then closed. I happen to disagree with that, but when things like this happen, you do have to admit they kind of have a point.

I happen to disagree, the message they need to send right now is that those responsible for the mess have been kicked out. Unfortunately, I doubt this will happen because I suspect the bad decision making and groupthink goes straight to Ballmer, but that's another story.

Unfortunately, given the mess he's left, a diplomatic firing isn't what's needed here. What's needed is a very public firing, complete with things like "gross incompetence" in the press release if MS wants to have any chance to salvage the XBone.
